In my group of MTG friends, There is no Doubt that my favorite color and deckstyle is Mono Black. I've been Playing it since Scars and I haven't looked back since.

This deck is for the tempo style player where metagaming is a must. My list changes considerably as a set matures and cards drift in and out of the spotlight. Right now I am playing a more aggressive deck with a lower curve than I usually Run.

Your Basic game plan would be to get to 4-6 lands and drop a fattie. Using the protection spells to get them to stick. There are also the Utility creatures which can chump or shave off enough for your big guy to get there.

Though discard in my opinion, is considerably worse than I'd like it to be with the already dismal choices and with flashback so heavily used in the meta with Snapcaster Mage and Unburial Rites.

So I focused on the other way of gaining advantage in black, draw and field advantage.

Sadly no more Sign in Blood So I'm using Moriok Replica, Phyrexian Rager, Altar's Reap and Bloodgift Demon.

What I like about Altar's Reap is that i can Block & Sac and get 2 better cards back. Since you're losing 2 cards for two cards its not necessarily card gain on your end but it can turn an opponents removal spell into a blank or in the case of Geralf's Messenger a shock to the face. and a buff.Phyrexian Obliterator he is sexy but clunky. Though this is an aggro meta which he is best in, The best deck is an aggro flying deck. And If I can't get there with Life loss, Poison it will be. Inkmoth Nexus can finish off games in Two hits with Lashwrithe. I've even finished games in one hit with Inkmoth

Bloodgift Demon Seems better than Vengeful Pharoah so he gets the five slots....would be mind sludge if it was still here......

Grave Titan...Where you at bro? Not in this 75. Massacre Wurm has more relevance in standard at this point with lingering souls. Wurmcoil Engine get me there while pulling me from the brink.

Though Grave titan and its tokens would be fun with the altar's reap it is win more. Wurmcoil does the same thing.

And last but not least, Vault Skirge is here. Turn 1 drop on the play turn 2 on the draw and it looks really good with a lashwrithe. it also eats up early removal, the same job geralf's messenger does. to leave their decks removal weak when the top of the curve comes into play.

Sever the Bloodline Two for 1? 3 for 1? 5 for 1? yes please. 1 for 2 uses? shut up and exile their creatures.Exile is a big thing as well, what better way to break up a Token party.Sideboard

Curse of Death's Hold Wins games. what better way to clog someones hand full of cheap drops with cute abilities and small bodies. It doesn't stop Snapcaster Mage but it does keep the rest off the field.

Entomber Exarch comes in if I play a control deck or combo deck especially if they run heavy removal.

Hex Parasite It gets played after they play their planeswalker and eats up the counters. also does well to take off a counter from Geralf's Messenger to keep it alive for more fun.

Nihil Spellbomb More Card draw takes some of the heat off of graveyard threats.
