GET IT? BECAUSE OMNATH IS AN ACCOUNTANT. HE KEEPS TABS ON ALL THE GREEN MANA. /LOL
A non-Elf Omnath EDH deck. I've tried to include many ways to ramp up the mana such as Gauntlet of Power , Caged Sun , Doubling Cube , etc., and many ways to abuse that amount of mana Strength of the Tajuru , Wolfbriar Elemental , Wurmcalling , etc.
Cards i would remove: Temple Bell , Otherworld Atlas , Helix Pinnacle , Sands of Delirium , Vorapede , Skinshifter , Scute Mob , multani, maro-scorcerer, Cudgel Troll , Primal Bellow , Might of Oaks , Paleoloth , Arbor Elf , Chameleon Colossus , Dungrove Elder , Mask of Avacyn .
The bell and atlas are slow, most of the creatures i mentioned are just big and dont do anything. And ive never played with sands or pinnacle so i really dont know.
I would cut Sands of Delirium then. You will have lots of mana, but unless you have infinite man you are likely not milling all your opponents.
As for the Sands of Delirium and Helix Pinnacle , I overheard a conversation one day between two people talking about how sometimes they'll include a second win condition just in case something goes haywire or in case somebody puts themselves in a soft-lock (such as with, just for example, something like Solitary Confinement ) and that got me thinking about it.
Well the colossus is just a big dude, thats it. The only time it will be good is if it gets trample. And paleoloth, i just dont see it happening enough to matter. But again ive never played with these cards.
Helix Pinnacle I get. 100 man to win the game and it has hexproof. Sands of Delirium has to tap each time you use it. And it only takes out a player. Not all players. I have to agree with the colossus, but I would keep Paleoloth . Even if it happens once in a game, that is great.
When dealing with EDH I'm trying to shy away from infinite-combos of any sort. I know a lot of people frown upon those kinds of things (I know I'd be a little miffed if someone pulled out Kiki-Jiki+Intruder Alarm in the middle of a fun game). But if I did, I feel as if I would need to remodify this deck so it has elves because I can't think of any other Green/Colorless infinite mana ramp combos.
Genesis Wave will completely wreck in this deck, especially with all the mana multiplier permanents. Primal Surge not so much with all the sorcery and instants you have. In my Omnath build, every time I Genesis Wave, I always end up with more mana than I spent on it.
Eldrazi Conscription is also really good on Omnath,
Primeval Titan is banned.
Add in Keeper of Progenitus for another doubler. (If you wish.)
IMO your permanent type is kind of all over the place. (Creature (26), Artifact (11), Enchantment (5), Planeswalker (2).) This makes Creeping Renaissance a card that may be far too situational for dependable use. Recursion is great but Creeping Renaissance feels like it could be replaced with something that helps your game plan a little more.
There are a ton of mana doublers out there that you could add but instead of prattling on further I will simply link Rollover Minutes
Aw man, Prime Time finally got banned, eh? That sucks.
Ohthenoises, I forgot about Triumph of Ferocity , thanks. I'm also going to swap Creeping Renaissance -> Genesis Wave since I already have card:Praetor's Counsel. and I'll find a replacement for PT once I acquire one.
I feel like I need more creatures in this deck at this point. What do you guys think?
If you are feeling creature shy I would definitely recommend Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary and similar ramping creatures.
Are all good for a deck like this.
Thanks for all your input, peeps. It flows smoothly now.
But what about card:Death's Presence? Yay or nay? I pulled it at the prerelease and thought it would be real nifty.
