Hey whats up everyone! Thanks for stopping by and checkin out the deck! If you don't wanna read my blabber about my intro to EDH and how this deck came to be, SKIP DOWN!

When I first started playing EDH about a year ago, after playing standard mainly for the last ten years, Sliver Overlord was my clear first choice. Slivers have always been my favorite thing about Magic <3 Even though, until Time Spiral (thank God for Virulent Sliver!!!), they never really did much competitively. So, to get into EDH, I set upon the challenge to build what I thought would be a strong Sliver deck.

I got the deck complete, and started playing some games! I very quickly fell in love with the format, as it was a huuuuuge 180 from standard play.

I did alright with the deck, mainly winning games off of the Mana Echoes + Sliver Queen combo. I played some of the more typical cards you see in Overlord decks, and played a higher count of slivers like I tend to see around. Over the year now that I've been loving EDH, the deck was taken apart for some time, while I experimented with and developed a TON of other decks. To this day, Karador, Ghost Chieftain and Animar, Soul of Elements are at the top of my favorites. After messing with a lot of different generals, it was time to rebuild Overlord, now that I had a bunch of EDH experience under my belt.

Sliver Overlord is my all time favorite general now. It's at a stage that is extremelyyyy fun to play, doesn't upset people like a lot of decks are doing, and wins in exciting and explosive ways. All the while, destroying Sol Rings all day long! THAT CARD SHOULD BE BANNED! :P

CARD SELECTION:

Let's go over some "off-beat" card selections that I don't see in other Overlord decks often:

- Bringer of the Blue Dawn : 5/5 trample for 5 mana and draw two extra cards a turn! You are lying, no such thing could exist! And along with Rhystic Study, Phyrexian Arena and Sylvan Library, this deck has some insanely consistent fuel! (Shhhhh, Bringer of the Black Dawn is also fantastic if you're into that sort of thang!)

-Aurelia, the Warleader and Prime Speaker Zegana: These two ladies curve out AMAZINGLY with Sliver Overlord. Moving on!

-Sliver Hivelord has been birthed into existence! I see that sliver players realize this in general, but they don't utilize it very well for some reason! Enter Damnation, Wrath of God, Akroma's Vengeance. SOLID.

-All Is Dust + Ghostflame Sliver : Simply, Elegant.

-Garruk Wildspeaker actually seems to be absent from most other sliver decks I see. In a 5 color deck with a bunch of multi-color mana producing lands, he can smooth your colors out like a beastly Bob Ross.

-LET THE HATERS HATE on Crystalline Sliver countering my own slivers' abilities, but Sliver Hivelord with this fellow has won me PLENTY of games.

-Unburial Rites: I haven't seen a lot of this card around outside of Karador decks. But let me assure you; it is very, very good. Also, in the same sense, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed I tend to see only in particular decks, but he is great in here ;)

-Lastly, I feel that Mirari's Wake, Mana Reflection, Prophet of Kruphix, Rise of the Dark Realms, and Tooth and Nail, should be played in any deck that lands in their colors. They all seem particular strong in this deck!

WINNING:

Typically I'm killing people with commander damage. Secondarily, I'm killing with standard aggro tactics. The tricks come along with the burst commander wins.

Bonescythe Sliver is a champion. Don't even think about flashing this guy in thanks to Quick Sliver after no blocks are declared to reap that poor opponent. Oh wait. DO THAT.

Please don't underestimate my bestie the foil Magma Sliver. And yes, after rigorous testing, foils perform better. Sliver Overlord one-shots for days! Bring in my girl Aurelia, the Warleader and take out two fools in one turn.

Galerider Sliver and Shifting Sliver are your standard evasion creatures for the deck. Each good where the other lacks.

Quick Sliver just overall introduces so many possibilities.

Just don't tell me to run Sol Ring, or Mana Echoes for combo with Sliver Queen! :P
