Thanks to everyone who has enjoyed the deck and upvotes it. Much appreciated!!

Like the deck! Have you thought about running a land like Winding Canyons, which would allow you to play creatures at instant speed? Maybe even Vedalken Orrery? Playing creatures EOT at opponents end step might help keep them off the board (less vulnerable) and you won't need hast effects so much.

I'm actually looking at finding a slot for Yeva, Nature's Herald , she will give me another combo to grab with Defense of the Heart along with Seedborn Muse. I might have to add a slot in for Winding Canyons as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

Also notice you're really light on flying. Could you use something handy like Hornet Queen? She produces value and they all have deathtouch...something to discourage all the dragons, demons, and angels that terrorize a deck low to the ground like yours.

Within my playgroup it hasn't been a real issue, a buddy of mine has an angel tribal deck that's troublesome, but only because he uses Linvala, Keeper of Silence as the commander. I ramp harder than any of the decks that use a lot of flying and take them out first. But I'll play around with hornet queen and see. Thanks again.

How much would this deck be without foils XD

Kamerot says... #6

Probably $500-$700 with Gaea's Cradle, most of the nonfoil versions of cards are dirt cheap, but the foil is ridiculous. It may even be cheaper to make, I will get back to you tomorrow with solid figures if you really want to know.

Scentaurt I know you said don't worry about it, but you got me curious, lol. Without Gaea's Cradle, card kingdom prices would be about $585 for the nonfoil version, and about $915 with. This doesnt include basics because you can get those in bulk for practically nothing if you dont already have them. There are lots of alternative cards that can cut the price though. But the prices I listed are card for card.

Cream of the Crop does some serious draw filtering here.

I do like that a lot. I'm gonna have to do some serious playtesting with it. Thanks for the suggestion!

So it seems you don't really have a lot of mill protection besides Praetor's Counsel, I really like the idea of Gaea's Blessing especially if you hit it with Genesis Wave because it shuffles it in. Also I am a fan of Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre or Kozilek, Butcher of Truth as a beater and graveyard recycle.

My playgroup only has one person who plays mill, and he only uses it as protection and to slow opponents down in his combo deck.

Fair enough. But with a big Green Beater deck like this, it's not Big Green Beater without Tooth and Nail with the OG mirrodin art!

I don't have any 2 creature instant win combos in the deck, so tooth and nail has always seemed unnecessary. I run Defense of the Heart because it's much cheaper and having a commander that turn lands into creatures. I can guarantee an activation no matter what. But maybe I'll play around with some playtesting and reconsider putting it in the deck. I can't deny how great of a card it is. Thanks for the input!

Craterhoof Behemoth and Avenger of Zendikar are the two creature win con :p

True. Damn it, now I definitely have to playtest and see how it'll work. Lol

Tooth and Nail just feels AMAZING when you Entwine it and just smash Hoofdaddy against your opponents. Also another cute token/Fog card would be Arachnogenesis, no one expects it and it protects your butt from flyers if you have a flyer heavy opponent.

Also, Priest of Titania seems like it gives you poor value in this deck, just because you run so few elves. I honestly prefer Growing Rites of Itlimoc . it deck thins and lets you get a pseudo cradle. Duskwatch Recruiter  Flip also lets you deck thin for creatures and at the cost of GC, and when it flips it reduces the costs by 1

Isochron Scepter is another undervalued card in your deck. Artifacts have the most removal spells and you have 7 targets for it. Also maybe consider Snow Covered Forests so it doesn't benefit your opponents.

I really do like arachnogenesis, great suggestion. The priests actually do really well in the deck believe it or not. I run 10 elves, with possibly more to come with dominaria, but I only need a few for it to give me value. And 6eah, I agree on isochron scepter, I used to run more fogs and Naturalize type spells so I had more targets. I've kept it in mainly because if I get Heroic Intervention on it, it is just hilarious. But I've been looking at replacing it with Regrowth for additional recursion.

I really like Big Green, I keep building it too much! Also does Hexproof blanket effects really give you value in your playgroup? Archetype of Endurance is a decent card but too high of a CMC, and I've never really been a fan of asceticism. Mainly because when you run Green you run alot of redundancy in your build. Also, Greenwarden of Murasa belongs in here.

Also, where is your Thunderfoot Baloth?

April 5, 2018 3:59 a.m.

Kamerot says... #23

Yes, my group runs a crap load of spot removal and my creatures are almost always the priority targets. Thunderbolt is useless in this deck. His ability only works if I control my commander and I have a commander that buffs and gives trample.

Have you ever tried Selvala, Heart of the Wilds as your commander before? Give it a try sometime. It's hilarious.

No, The deck is designed around kamahl as the commander and he's been my favorite legend since I started playing, so I've never considered using someone else.
