Disclaimer: Although this is not a stax deck, it can be extremely depressing to play against. This deck is probably one of the most EVIL and SADISTIC pillowfort-based strategies around and is extremely difficult to deal with without adequate focused hate. Please warn your friends in advance before playing this monster.

Why Play This?

Are you a sadist and like to see the world burn as you gloat over the walls of your pillowfort? Do you like to give your opponents a false sense of hope but is plagued with anxiety and despair as they look at your impregnable boardstate? If so, this pillowfort deck is for you. It's just you versus the world. This deck is designed to withstand the onslaught of hate without a sweat. Unless your opponent is playing a fast non-interactive combo deck (fortunately we run a number of permissions), most (if not all) EDH strategies involve at least some creatures (commanders included) which makes pillowforting such a powerful strategy. With no disruption, this deck can win fast and out of nowhere reliably (as early as turn 3 kill). You only have one goal, to build the ultimate pillowfort. Are you up for the challenge?

Pillowfort Construction

Once you establish your pillowfort lock and your opponents realized that they have no way to break your fort, they will mostly concede.

• Web of Inertia + Leyline of the Void/Rest in Peace = my go to ultimate pillowfort. Not only stops Annihilation/Narset attack triggers but also the fastest route to victory with Helm of Obedience.

• Energy Field + Rest in Peace = ultimate pillowfort

• Solitary Confinement (this card or Leyline of Sanctity counters discard or any combos targeting a player) + any extra draw artifacts or enchantments = ultimate pillowfort (don't forget that Oloro, Ageless Ascetic himself combos with this card)

• Sphere of Safety + bunch of enchantments = super tax dream team assembly (bonus points with Propaganda and Collective Restraint in play)

• Night of Souls' Betrayal + Humility = no need for pillowfort cos there aint' got no creatures left!

• Omniscience + Nether Void = All your spells cost 3 generic mana while your opponent's spells cost an extra 3 generic mana

• Moat = one man pillowfort that nullifies all ground assault. Bonus points with Luminarch Ascension in play (in sideboard)

• Righteous Aura = nullifies all voltron/fatties strategies

Win Conditions

Well, you're still not conceding? I'll go ahead and end your misery then.

• Helm of Obedience + Leyline of the Void/Rest in Peace = Kills an opponent a turn

• Sanguine Bond + Exquisite Blood (counters mass life loss infinite combos utilizing cards like Blood Artist) = Win (instant win with Leyline of Anticipation)

• Test of Endurance + 50 or more life = Win (instant win with Leyline of Anticipation)

• Sorin, Grim Nemesis + Penance (counters Heartless Hidetsugu strategies) + any high CMC cards like Mind's Dilation/Avacyn, Angel of Hope/Omniscience = Each opponent loses 7/8/10 lives per turn if you have your pillowfort lock established

• Luminarch Ascension + Serra's Sanctum = ever-growing massive angel army beatdown if you have your pillowfort lock established (bonus flavor points with Avacyn, Angel of Hope in play)

• Humility + manland beats = It is a slower win-con but can be a very effective plan the later the game is once your opponents have brought each others' health total down. Our animated manlands still retain their power and keywords due to a later timestamp and them being still lands (613.1d Layer 4: Type-changing effects i.e. manlands are applied. Humility affects layer 6 and 7b. See here for a more detailed explanation).
