Of Course it's Meren, why else play Golgari?

Commander / EDH BG (Golgari) Competitive Reanimator Tokens

Meren, I mean why else play Golgari am I right? Meren of Clan Nel Toth has become one of the best Golgari Commanders ever printed. Have you ever felt the satisfaction of casting Fleshbag Marauder to sack itself, killing and opponent's creatures, getting an experience counter only to bring it back at the end of the turn to do the same thing and get another experience counter? I tell you nothing makes you feel better than killing an opponent's creatures twice in one turn like that. Meren of Clan Nel Toth has so much synergy and combined with other cards she can easily run away with the game.

So without further to do, here is my Meren deck. This deck is all about creating fodder in the form of token generators, i.e. Bitterblossom, Awakening Zone, Creakwood Liege and using our many sac outlets to clear the field with cards like Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, or Butcher of Malakir. This buys us time to amass our own field with creatures and luckily we won't have to sac any of our important win cons since we have so many tokens. without any creatures themselves to stop ours, we can easily win the game via damage. I list below a full detailed card explanation of why these cards are here and what they are suppose to do for the deck.

Card Selection:

In the Land section, I purposely left out descriptions of lands that are self explainitory. Cards like Command Tower, Bayou, and fetches like Misty Rainforest need no explaination.

Lands Show

Bojuka Bog - An uncounterable way to get rid of someones graveyard is neccecary.

Golgari Rot Farm - 2 for the price of one.

Grim Backwoods - This can be used as a Sac Outlet and it can also draw us a card as instant speed.

High Market - This is a free Sac Outlet and gains us 1 life to help counter our fetchlands.

Hissing Quagmire - is a dual land that becomes a 2/2 black/green Deathtoucher if need be. Also if necessary you can use Hissing Quagmire as the sacrifice for Natural Order to tutor for a creature.

Miren, the Moaning Well - a Sac Outlet that can let us gain life, which is always good.

Mortuary Mire - Helps us get back a creature in the graveyard should the need arise.

Phyrexian Tower - Another sac outlet and adds 2 black upon the sac, yes please!

Tainted Wood - A land that 9 out of 10 times is a dual land.

Temple of the False God - Another land that taps for 2 mana.

Twilight Mire - a wonderful land that helps us fix mana.

Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth - A great mana fix card should we need black or, for example, if Temple of the False God cant be activated yet.

Volrath's Stronghold - like Mortuary Mire but better.

Westvale Abbey   - This card can come out of no where. Typically you will have enough creatures on the field for the sacrifice and there is nothing like playing it, sac the creatures and swing with a 9/7 flying, lifelink, indestructible, haste all in the same turn. I have pulled this off reliably and is why its in the deck.

Woodland Cemetery - Antoher dual land.
