This deck has a lot of combo's in it and a lot of different ways of getting those combos, I have Damia, Sage of Stone as my Commander because her Draw power helps with securing the cards needed to kick off the deck.

Example:

Melira, Sylvok Outcast + Glen Elendra Archmage = All of the non-creature cancels (also works for any other Persist card) + Sheoldred, Whispering One Selecting a Persist creature I no longer have to worry about actually losing a creature

Also, Blasting Station Destroy a persist creature until the opponents are dead.

There are a lot of other combos, those are just the main ones.
