The alliance of Faith and Fury - brace for Boros.
O Canada, celebrating racial diversity; where humans, soldiers, spirits, and angels fight together with Fervor under the dual leadership of Odric, Master Tactician and Chandra, the Firebrand .
It may be a Dangerous Wager , but their Intangible Virtue will surely prevail and prove that real Honor of the Pure lies in teamwork and equality.
So come, Gather the Townsfolk with Increasing Devotion ; welcome the Midnight Haunting ; Entreat the Angels ; and bring in some Timely Reinforcements .
O Canada, let us Reforge the Soul and unite all tokens for a single cause: slaying Vampire Nocturnus . Plz.
White Tokens under Odric's Tactics + Burn. The flames clear the way for masses of buffed tokens. Nuff' said.
Very nice token deck! +1
Fervor .. is that or will it be Standard? Haven't seen it around.
An overall solid deck!
Lol very nice description.
card:Cathars' Crusade! It's actually probably too high cost for R/W aggro. Maybe not since it's tokens, they're generally a bit slower. Also, Incinerate is tragically not a reprint.
But they will have a card that does Incinerate under a different name. Searing Spear
Wow, thanks for all the rates and comments guys!
@ TrickstersInTheSky, Thanks for the comments! I agree, Hellrider and Hero of Bladehold work wonders for token decks. So does Burn at the Stake . I think I might try adjusting the creatures a bit, so there is 4 Hero of Bladehold and 3 Odric, Master Tactician . I like Geist-Honored Monk a lot in this deck, partially for her pseudo-combination of a Crusader of Odric with vigilance and a Midnight Haunting built into one. As a large body she can hold off other big critters quite well, but she is vulnerable to board removal (even a well-placed Pyroclasm ). I'll give the 4-hero, 3-odric a try, but I am not sure if the 3-mana slot will be too low this way (given how there are no 1-mana spells to compliment a 2-mana spell). Also, i'll take a look at your deck!
@ Velox and GregoryDays, thank you for the props :)
@ krotash, I agree, card:Cathars' Crusade would work wonders in here, but I am not sure what I would take out for it.. Everything seems to work quite holistically already and I don't want to have too many enchantments. What would you recommend for taking out?
I agree, I am sad Incinerate won't see a reprint. Searing Spear is strictly worse but there aren't really any other options for now. If there are no Lightning Bolt or Incinerate reprints with Ravnica it will be downgrading to Burning Oil , Thunderous Wrath , Brimstone Volley and the like.
+1 for description alone i felt like singing the great white north anthem. With that said I like the flavor of the deck seems spicy consider Bonfire of the Damned sideboard.
Without knowing how your deck runs, or having much experience with it, I can't say for sure, but personally I'm not too big of a fan of Dangerous Wager
Dangerous Wager is a dream come true for aggro decks where nearly every card you draw will be played during your main phases. Discarding an entire hand may seem risky, but in practice, it reads "pay 1R, draw two cards," since your hand will be mostly spent or useless anyway.
Honestly, the card I'm not crazy about is Incinerate , and not because it won't be reprinted in M13, or because it's a bad card, but because it's a constant reminder of our beloved and erstwhile Lightning Bolt . Pillar of Flame or Shock might be a better fit, since the things you can kill with Incinerate will also die to Odric, Master Tactician during the combat step anyway. There's also Flames of the Firebrand to hose down more targets at 1 CMC more than Arc Trail . Plus, it has Chandra in it, for flavor points.
I'm loving this deck. However, how do you think it would hold up once Hero of Bladehold , Honor of the Pure , and Timely Reinforcements ?
Rotates out ***
Do you think Odric, Master Tactician is good? Because I tried him and he never come. What do you think of him?
Also don't forget to visit my deck deck:odric-the-boros-general
Wow, thanks for all the comments and votes guys! Sorry its taken almost two weeks to respond, been a few provinces away from home for family.
@ bman5604, thanks! Bonfire of the Damned has also been added to the sideboard.
@ krotash, I think Velox summed up my thoughts of Dangerous Wager pretty well, as you will only use it when your hand has been spent. Also, it can be a saving grace if you are desperate for card draw (i.e. creatures or land); most of the time, however, you will just be playing: "1(R), draw two cards."
@ Velox, Wow, you sure have the hate for Incinerate! (no pun or rhyme intended). In Standard as of Magic 2013, there are 136 3-toughness creatures that Incinerate can reach with its extra 1 damage that sets it apart from Shock and Pillar of Flame. Many of those are very commonly played creatures and MAJOR threats (i.e. Sublime Archangel, Captain of the Watch, Fiend Hunter, Angelic Overseer, Angel of Jubilation, Glissa, the Traitor, Vampire Nocturnus, Vampire Nighthawk, Bloodline Keeper Flip, Olivia Voldaren, Krenko, Mob Boss, Vexing Devil, Hellrider, Putrefax, Thragtusk, etc). This is not to mention other cards that could give +1/+1 bonuses to lower toughness creatures, or any 2 or lower toughness creature in general. With so many threats out there, it is IMO better to just pay the extra mana for one extra point of damage, with a perk of denying regeneration (prominent in green and especially black cards, which white has trouble with). This maximizes red as a support color to a beatdown white in this circumstance.
When everything cycles, though, I think I will shift to either Shock and/or Brimstone Volley to replace Incinerate, and Flames of the Firebrand will be an easy (but still downgraded) transfer from Arc Trail. But I do agree on the flavor points for Chandra :). Hopefully Ravnica will bring out some new good burn spells.
@ Lantern214, Thanks man! I am more pissed about Honor of the Pure cycling out than anything else, but the onset of dual-coloured cards in Ravnica will hopefully compensate for this issue. I can settle for something like Glory of Warfare or similar.
With the absence of Hero of Bladehold and Timely Reinforcements , there are still options like Doomed Traveler , Attended Knight , more Increasing Devotion and possibly Captain of the Watch (who I idealized this deck on in conjunction with Odric originally). If necessary I can bump up the mana curve to include the captain and heavier burn spells like Brimstone Volley , Flames of the Firebrand and more Reforge the Soul instead of Dangerous Wager (as I do have a full playset). There is also still potential for Reverberate and Increasing Vengeance .
@ blackrun, really? I've played with him a few times already and he has been gamebreaking every time he goes off. I have the choice of making all of my creatures unblockable, or killing certain creatures that the opponent would never want to see in combat (i.e. Talrand, Sky Summoner , Krenko, Mob Boss , Intrepid Hero just to name a few), OR just killing regular combatants who would lose in my optimal circumstances (i.e. an unbuffed Vampire Nocturnus or Sublime Archangel getting beat down by Odric himself. Just keep playing with him, it may take a few tries for him to go off. After all, he IS legendary, and has a giant bullseye painted on him the minute he hits the field. Just make sure your deck doesn't depend on him alone to win, as you can only run 4 with 1 out at a time. And for sure, i'll take a look at your deck!
It's also kind of funny how Odric, Master Tactician seems like a foreshadowed, thoughtful replacement for Master Warcraft (which was previously a W/R boros tactic card in Ravnica).
Timely Reinforcements is out. Just saying.
@ MetaphysicalxProdigy lol, my criticism of Incinerate was supposed to sound tongue-in-cheek, but thanks for settling the question once and for all.
Yeah, no more Timely Reinforcements :( too bad. And sorry I missed the tongue-in-cheek about Incinerate lol. I too miss Lightning Bolt and its too bad it hasn't seen a reprint yet. M13 is being called the "set of reprints" but they missed the mark on that one.
They gave us back Rancor , though. That helps a bit. There'll still be a Lightning Bolt -shaped hole in my heart until it returns, though. T_T
not sure if your still using this, but if so, Assemble the Legion would be nice
Thanks for the comment man! I haven't used this deck in a while but now that my school semester is nearly finished I am going to come back to this deck and start using it again. I definitely think an addition of 1 or 2 Assemble the Legion would go great with the token theme, especially as a finisher or clock to put the game on. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Haha loving it. I love tokens and I love red decks. They pose the biggest threat to my latest and favorite deck TurboFog post Avacyn. Check it out lol.
As for your deck, maybe look into Hellrider and Hero of Bladehold . Hellrider absolutely wrecks my deck...
