Nothing New Under the Canopy

Modern Mono-Green Tribal

The backbone of this deck is Dauntless Dourbark with Dungrove Elder in close second. Most of the rest of the deck plays a supporting role. The Elves and Banneret are there to accelerate the process of getting these Treefolk onto the field with Leaf-Crowned Elder working toward the same end. The Harbinger helps get a forest if I need it, but I prefer to use it to make sure I get the right Treefolk in my hand. Wickerbough Elder and Lignify are there for dealing with threats, and Heartwood Storyteller and the Sapling of Colfenor for the cards. Timber Protector provides all around good defense for the other Treefolk and forests, both of which are important for Dauntless Dourbark.

I've play-tested the deck against a number of others and the deck does okay, but I'm always open to suggestions to improve. I want to keep the mono-green Treefolk Tribal nature of the deck to the degree that I can, notwithstanding the four Llanowar Elves that are there. I'd be open to the possibility of non-Treefolk cards, but I don't want any more non-Treefolk creatures.

I'm open to suggestions on how to improve this deck. Suggestions about sideboard would be very helpful. Thanks

Nice mono green list! Especially dig the Wickerbough Elder, I've been playtesting it some too with good an bad results. But it's still a awesome card :)

Thanks, yeah, I've liked Wickerbough Elder for awhile; I'm not sure it's going to survive the next iteration, but maybe it'll live on in the sb.

The mono-green aspect is, unfortunately, about to go. I think my next bad idea for this will be to see if I can work Sheltering Ancient into this deck without adding a bunch of cards to cater to it. Some combination of Crib Swap, Unstoppable Ash, Eerie Interlude, Forbidden Orchard, or Lignify, aided by Doran, the Siege Tower, might work.

Since you produce quite a bit of 1/1s for your opponent and you seem to spash black along Doran, I might want to recommend mainboarding something light aoe like Drown in Sorrow, Echoing Decay, Nausea, or Golgari Charm etc. lots of one time debuffs. Or possibly a sweet synergy with those mechanics as a permanent always killing them rigth away with Night of Souls' Betrayal. Quite a bit of interesting path to take with your approach! Keep me posted!

Great, thanks, these are some good suggestions that I'll keep in mind.
