Hi Hivemind,

This will eventually probably maybe perhaps perchance end up as my first attempt at a primer but for now it is mostly a means for me to track my foils :) Jund Lands Matter is 100% the most fun deck I have ever had the pleasure of piloting and Windgrace being at the helm adds an incredible draw engine that still feels worth re-casting even after a few removals.

Introduction Show

EDH was the starting point of my love for Magic: The Gathering and I have not found myself even dabbling in the other formats. The problem for myself is that due to the sheer amount of choice and the ability to really express yourself and be creative I have never been able to find "the one" deck until Lord Windgrace .

Before playing the pre-con I had never even considered dabbling into "lands matter" at all. Omnath, Locus of Rage was always very strong at any table I saw it being piloted, Titania, Protector of Argoth always felt too all in for my tastes and Tatyova, Benthic Druid never really jived with my style.

Windgrace out of the box felt... underwhelming... to say the least but I could see it's potential, it always felt like you would need to invest some time and money into it to get it to a decent point (at least for my meta and lgs). Being a draw engine and a bin filler all in one with the ability to abuse land etb's I left him on the shelf until I was in a position to start building this monstrosity.

Where he currently sits in the list above feels perfect for my meta and my LGS. It is easily strong enough to win any table I sit at (I have beaten extremely tuned 90% decks) and has enough versatility to play out differently each time.

Why this list? Show

Now the first thing nearly anyone who reads this will think is "where is Strip Mine / Wasteland / Azusa, Lost but Seeking / Vesuva / Exploration /OG fetches" etc etc etc. Well they are purposefully absent for two reasons 1. I have a competitive deck capable of t1-t4 wins so the ego can take a back seat in favour of a more social experience and 2. This is designed to be strong (>80%) but still maintain a social contract of minimal land destruction and attempt to not just land storm my opponents each and every game with fetches, this also removes the need for Azusa and Exploration.

So if this is something you are ok with, stay a while and listen (read XD)
