Reanimator Toolbox (all hammers)

Legacy* Reanimator UBR (Grixis)

Sideboard

What started back in the day (when Odyssey was in Standard) as an Extended format reanimator deck has evolved into a real monster.

The basic idea, as usual with reanimator builds, is to dump giant, overpowered creatures into the graveyard, then use spells like Reanimate and Exhume to bring them in to play. Use of things like Mox Diamond and Lotus Petal ramp up the speed of an already fast deck. It does not take a crazy draw to get out a turn one Akroma, Angel of Wrath (for example). Turn two is very consistent.

I'd say the biggest work in progress component of the deck is the reanimation target suite.

Updates Add

Swapped out Magister Sphinx for a Void Winnower. Subsequent testing to see if this is the correct swap. While the Magister has a great come in to play ability, I've noticed I'm usually only happy to see it very early when it can do the most damage. Winnower is a bigger body that immediately shuts down a lot of spells and blocking defense. Seems worth exploring.
