With Gideon of the Trials there is another cheap method to prevent losing besides Angel's Grace. I thought this could be exploited well with the Pacts from Future Sight and the new Glorious End.

The main trick would be playing Pact of the Titan to get a free 4/4 creature in the opponent's turn, followed by Snapcaster Mage (and maybe Slaughter Pact to clear the way for an attack). Then in my own upkeep, play Angel's Grace to prevent losing.

Gideon of the Trials does the same trick but has to be cast before the pacts. He's the better option with Glorious End, because you don't need to have him in play until your next end step. You can even back him up with a Pact of Negation and/or protect him with Slaughter Pact because the emblem lasts forever.

I'm not sure about Spell Pierce but it looks like a good way to prevent the essential "not losing" spells from being countered. Everything else is pretty much irrelevant...
