Aether Revolt Update! —Jan. 25, 2017

The Aether Revolt updates keep on coming! Kaladesh block has been good to Norin and Aether Revolt keeps the hits coming with some really spicy options for the deck!

Indomitable Creativity - We generate a lot of tokens and basically any artifact or creature we could hit would be an upgrade for us. I also like that this can Chaos Warp something of your opponents too if you really need to. This is the kind of flexibility I like and don't mind paying for. My only real hesitation is that it X spells don't play nice with Possibility Storm which is one of my preferred disruption pieces.

Kari Zev, Skyship Raider - So sometimes cards are just sweet and that's almost enough reason to play them. This makes a legendary monkey token.... It interacts favorably with a lot of what we do (as long as it can get an attack in) and I won't begrudge you for playing it. If you don't play the Goblin package I do, it's probably as good (if not better) than some of the Goblin token makers.

Release the Gremlins - Now HERE is the card we were looking for. Blow up a bunch of artifacts, get a bunch of gremlin tokens. It might not be as efficient as say Shattering Spree, but it has additional synergy with the deck that's hard to ignore.

Aethersphere Harvester - So the Crew 1 (or 2) vehicles are all worth considering here as they allow use to get in there with Norin. Smuggler's Copter is by far the best, but this is playable. It attacks and blocks well and will gain you a little life (which is always appreciated).

Cogwork Assembler - Well this is... something. It copies the best artifact on the board which is almost always good. It's on the verge of playable here, but likely won't make the cut just due to space. If you're playing less Goblins and more artifacts, this might be worth it.

Gonti's Aether Heart - I don't think this ability is very exciting. But it is something. More artifact focused versions of the deck could probably take advantage of it. You almost want an extra way to spend the energy this generates to make it really worthwhile.

Inspiring Statuary - This is my one, for sure, addition to the deck. The mix of artifacts and non-artifacts here really lends itself to making the best out of this card. Its fail case being that it taps itself for one every turn is already close to good enough.

Paradox Engine - So is this a Paradox Engine deck? Maybe. We have a good number of mana rocks, we can circumvent it's casting cost with Goblin Welder or Daretti, Scrap Savant and it gives some additional explosive potential the deck currently lacks. By biggest fear about it is the deck's lack of card draw. It's probably good enough and it'll certainly warrant testing.

Planar Bridge - Look, I know mono-red doesn't get tutors. Don't play cards like this though. It's just too damn slow.

Scrap Trawler - I feel like a bit of a broken record, but here it is again. If you're playing an artifact focused version of the deck, this is sweet.

I want to go to there. This deck looks a lot less linear and more interactive than my Purphoros, God of the Forge deck.

I'm glad you like what you see rapgamelilyoungin!

Your assessment is pretty correct. There are games that basically end with a turn 4 Purphoros in this deck, but most of the time, you're simply doing nonsense and mucking up the game for everyone else until you find a way to win. At least with Norin, you don't start as public enemy #1. If you like politicking, this is definitely a good deck to play. You need help dealing with certain things and you often want to be non-threatening until you just mindslaver lock your opponent.
