pie chart Noble Modern Mono Black Discard Control

Sorcery (1)

My take on a deck for both the Noble and Modern format using Mono Black Control. The general premise is making them discard to lthe rack with Painful Quandary as a finisher. Here's the list by rarity:

Rare/Mythic Rare

As of now my sideboard is trans-formative against aggro.Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

You can't have Go for the ThroatMTG Card: Go for the Throat and / or Curse of Death's HoldMTG Card: Curse of Death's Hold in your Side.Sadly you must decide. Maybe Doom BladeMTG Card: Doom Blade instead of the other? It's a common...

100.3d A player's combined deck and sideboard must contain exactly one card with either a rare or mythic rare rarity. This card is designated as the deck's Noble card.

100.3e A player's combined deck and sideboard may contain up to four cards with the uncommon rarity.

oh thank you :) Unfortunately, Diabolic EdictMTG Card: Diabolic Edict isn't in Modern. I'm glad you showed me the card though. I started in Zendikar and as such do not know many of the older cards.

Hrm... with Haunt mechanic and Unearth I'd play Rotting RatsMTG Card: Rotting Rats over the others. You can choose when you play it, it shouldn't hit you that hart...

i went with Rotting RatsMTG Card: Rotting Rats because of the haunt mechanic off Cry of ContritionMTG Card: Cry of Contrition, however the deck does seem extremely creature light so i may lighten up the instants/sorceries to fit in some Ravenous RatsMTG Card: Ravenous Rats

The RackMTG Card: The Rack may be a better option than the Caress, as it's at the same rarity and works even if their hand is empty. It's legal in Modern and counts as an uncommon in this format.

Also, did you get this inspiration from that Modern deck that JVL posted for Building On A Budget on the MTG site? If so I'm glad you liked my suggestions as much as JVL did.

i actually did not get the inspiration from the building on a budget deck although i do visit JVL's budget decks from time to time (that guy is amazing). I am appreciative of the suggestion, The RackMTG Card: The Rack seems like a really good replacement for Liliana's CaressMTG Card: Liliana's Caress many thanks :)
