Land (1)

Budget non-combo Gitrog deck. The deck is still very much a "land matters" deck, opted out of using Dakmor Salvage or any other intentional infinite combos. The deck uses a number of landfall effects and other creatures and cards that care about land being in the graveyard as well. Win cons are simply having a ton of landfall tokens, or using Worm Harvest, or flipping Westvale Abbey  (which is fairly easy to do with all the tokens this deck can generate), or slowly melting the opponents with Retreat to Hagra.

If it isn't already apparent this deck is intended for use in more casual metas, but that being said it should be able to hold its own against some stronger decks with the amount of interaction/removal the deck still has, and can outlast a lot of decks using Glacial Chasm and/or Constant Mists.

The general game plan:

Perpetual Timepiece(and/or similar mill/sac cards to get our grave full of land) + having at least one landfall trigger on the battlefield such as Rampaging Baloths followed up by Splendid Reclamation = a lot of triggers.

Our other gameplan involves filling our graves with land and resolving cards like Centaur Vinecrasher or Terravore and then sacrificing them to Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord.

Deck upgrades are fairly straight forward, simply upgrading the manabase for things like more fetches would be useful, Dark Depths + Thespian's Stage is a solid combo in the deck as well. There's also more creatures and cards like Exploration , Oracle of Mul Daya , and Azusa, Lost but Seeking that help play even more lands per turn.

Check out this deck here by elting44 for more ideas on upgrading this deck with a higher budget while maintaining the "no combo" playstyle of Gitrog: Gitrog Lands.dec.
