My semi-budget (read: no Assassin's Trophy) version of JackishMTG's deck here, I really just like his creatureboard: https://aetherhub.com/Deck/Public?id=24502. I then swapped out the ATs, PW, and 4th-of's for a budget spin. I also limited the more expensive lands to what a newer player may have starting out, 2x shock lands and 2x woodland cemetary.

I was bouncing between a few concepts for the deck between Lotleth Giant and Hatchery Spider-heavy brews and explore-heavy brews (use Jadelight Ranger if you have it, but in the theme of semi-budget I replaced them).

I also reduced down from 4-setting ANY creatures to allow a bit more variety which I find OK to do with Golgari, and to make room for an extra spell in Shapers' Sanctuary.

You can swap the 2nd Seekers' Squire for a district guide or another Merfolk Branchwalker, but I am advocating 1 District Guide + 3 "explorey" creatures. This is where you'd sub in those Jadelights.

Swap in Duressx4 for Necrotic vs control. I left the sideboard with some good Undergrowth situational creatures because my intent here is to tailor this to your local FNM.
