Oh how the storm will rage! Utilizing the Nivmagus Elemental 's exile spells ability, combined with the storm effect of Ground Rift will give us two things, either a giant 1 cost creature, or an unblockable one early game, or both! Since most of the instants in this deck also require you to pick a target, the Kiln Fiend is also quite the low cost jerk. Their ultimate synergy however comes into play when they are put with Flamekin Harbinger who pulls them out of your deck so that you are pretty much guaranteed one of your win conditions every game. I had to replace the Gitaxian Probe with Duress for early game protection and removal due to the growing ban list, but pulling the opponents removal spells is good too, so It worked out alright. The last slot went to faithless looting, and helps to get rid of extra lands after turn 2 or 3. This is a low cost alternative to a similar deck played a few years ago in the pro tour by Gerry Thompson. The original creation included a ton of fetchlands, and if you can afford them, try looking it up.

So I’ve been out of the game for a bit, and this deck was no longer modern legal with the mental misstep OR the gitaxian probes. I have updated the deck list to make it modern compliant, and managed first place at Friday night magic, so the deck is still very competitive. Tarnished citadel also had to be replaced with a mana confluence.
