The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale! —March 31, 2015
I finally did it, I splurged and bought one of the most expensive cards I was still missing for my Niv-Mizzet deck.
Now the list of missing cards is as following:
Dack Fayden = $300
Force of Will = $800
Mox Opal = $100
Grim Monolith = $250
Timetwister = $600
Total price of missing cards ~ $2050
Soon there...
I used to run capsize in my less serious decks and people generally disliked how you could lock the board down with that and the insane mana ramp you can get in green.
This deck doesn't have that ramp, but it has TONS of colorless mana through its manarocks, which would allow me to easily pay the buyback cost on capsize (even though I'd only be able to do it once or twice a turn, since I have no untap abuse nor lots of colored mana). I had this spell in the deck at one point but removed it to limit its strength back when it was my only deck and we were all pretty casual and bad, but now that you brought it to my attention again I feel that with the overall improvements to the deck, capsize definitely isn't that scary card it used to be.

Another thing for your thoughts. Trickbind over stifle or with stifle. It's a lot easier and cheaper to foil and a heck of a lot more useful. its split second has been incredibly useful in stopping combos. it stops it until end of turn. so good.

If you want to push the price envelope, go for foil unhinged basics ;)

I like the cut of your deck's jib. I personally think Timetwister isn't worth the money you'd have to shell out. there's certainly enough wheelin' and dealin' to be had without it. Boomerang should be swapped out for Capsize or Wipe Away . they have been way better in my experience.
