Niv-Mizzet Reborn Roleplay

Standard Control Five Color

Sideboard

My Niv-Misset Reborn deck on MTG arena. Building it entirely around non creature spells you feel like you're rping the Niv-Misset card you've built the deck around, but it also maximizes synergy. The biggest advantage this deck has is it's ability to draw a ton of multi colored spells, but what's the fun in that if you can't play them all? So we of course benefit by playing a ton of cheap but powerful spells. To maximize the number of cards drawn by each Niv Misset play we have 3 cards for each guild other than Selesnya which simply didn't have many non creature spells worth consideration.

Overall we have:

Card draw (besides Niv himself): 2x Dovin's Acuity, 3x Growth Spiral, 1x Tome of the Guildpact, 2x Dragon's Hoard.

Mana ramp/fixing: 4x Chromatic Lantern, 2x Dragon's Hoard, 1x Tome of the Guildpact, 3x Growth Spiral

Spot removal: 2x Assasin's Trophy, 3x Bedevil, 3x Despark, 3x Cindervines

Boardwipes: 3x Deafening Clarion, 1x Time Wipe

Counterspells: 3x Ionize

Reanimation: 1x Connive//Concoct, 1x Journey to Eternity

Discard tricks: 2x Thought Erasure

On the sideboard:

We swap out Bedevil for Carnival//Carnage for some aggro match ups where both sides can be useful. The Carnage side is also good against some control matchups, though we'll usually still want some Bedevils if they play powerful planeswalkers.

Dovin's Veto and Rhythm of the Wild are at our disposal against control decks that are heavy on counterspells.

Emergency Powers is a must have one of against control where you can threaten to deck yourself in longer games. It's also a way to rebalance card advantage and often cheat a Niv Misset onto the battlefield.

Find//Finality gives us another boardwipe option, and the Find side is useful as well.

Mortify at times will replace Despark if you're up against a low to the ground aggro deck, or perhaps to go after an opponent's Search for Azcanta.

Unmoored Ego comes in to deal with combo decks.

Note: If an opponent uses an Unmoored Ego against you to exile all your Nivs it's big trouble.

Very fun deck to play. Needs a bit of luck to get going and especially to survive against aggro (pray for an early Deafening Clarion). However in most other matchups the volume and versatility of your removal, along with the card advantage provided by Niv Misset gives you a chance to beat any opponent.
