Ninjas!!!!! (aka "Mystery Meat")

Commander / EDH

BatCaveMagicMan

Artifact (1)

So I work at a comic shop that also sells Magic Cards and holds Magic Events. I saw the ninjutsu mechanic one day while putting up cards and wanted to build a deck using it. Then I found out that there are only 10 different cards with Ninjutsu, enough for modern but not EDH. I play EDH, not Modern.

Talking with friends, I always got the same response: "There's not enough support."

I found out, after finally building it, that there IS enough support, when you dash in a bit of the "Dash" mechanic!

I know there are better lands I could be using but I built this deck on a small budget, so go easy on the land judgments.

So take a look, I built the EDH deck that I've been told couldn't be built! It's fast, it's aggressive, it's consistent, it protects itself VERY well, but most of all, it's a LOT of fun!! I honestly have to say I feel like this is the most fun I've had in creating a deck (my favorite part of magic) and it's the most fun I've had playing with a deck.

The way the deck plays is pretty simple, you're just bouncing your creatures back to your hand so you can bring em back next turn and yell "NINJA!" when you do! You also keep from being hit by the opponent's creatures by bouncing theirs. I mean, really, there's enough rubber in the deck to ensure that you're almost never hit by creatures.

But the real fun comes from the comments when you're playing, like: "I see that 1/1 unblockable coming at me, but what's REALLY hitting me?" And this is where "Mystery Meat" comes from!

Thassa's in the deck to help ensure your creatures are unblocked, while the bident is there to let you profit from the hit. It never really matters if Thassa comes online or not, and even playing your commander isn't essential, she just adds more triggers to remember, really, but they both DO add flavor to the deck.

So take a look and let me know what your impressions are! Your feedback is appreciated!
