FNM Standard 8/24/18 —Aug. 25, 2018
I ended up with a 2-1 record this go around. Not too shabby even though my dual lands haven't come in yet
1) 2-0 Monoblack Burn
In the end, his draining couldn't save him from the massive damage output.
2) 1-2 U/R Gutterburn
There's not much to say about it. Everyone knows how Gutterburn works. Play Guttersnipe and slap down spells.
3) 2-1 G/W Cats
This was a matchup I was sure I didn't have a chance to beat. I just knew that with all that lifegain, there was no way. And after the first game, I was convinced.
The first game was lost to bad mulls and even worse topdecks. The next 2 were considerably better. What I didn't expect was that my kit was able to outdamage the lifegain after suiting up.
Overall, I'm quite proud of the performance. Sucks I only got 3rd, but hey, that's better than 6th.

If I gotta pick something, I'd probably try to get something unblockable. I know it ends up being a bit more expensive than giving flying to something, but It's a sure terror if your Champion of the Flame could get his hands on either Aether Tunnel or the Key to the City.

I would add a few dual lands. Even if they are the cheap duals that enter tapped I think it’s worth it. I think the amount of consistency you gain out ways the speed you lose

Sram would be almost unmatched in usefulness, but hes rotating out. And I made a point to make this survive rotation, because that's just how I felt like building it.

I have a few ideas for you on this.
Think about adding dive down in place of Chart a Course . There are other cards you can use for card draw and you need to protect vs. removal. I know it wrecks my day.
Dowsing Dagger is not a good card for this deck. Put in Curious Obsession in it's place for card draw.
Tiana, Ship's Caretaker is too expensive and if your stuff is going to the grave yard then your usually boned anyways.Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain is a better option because of card draw.
Cartouche of Zeal is another good enchantment to think about. I know it rotates out soon, but while it is still in use it.
Storm Fleet Sprinter is an under-rated card IMO. Unblockable w/ Haste is always a pain and does benefit from all the enchants and equipment you have.
At the store I play at regularly you need a faster deck to not get rolled. This should help fill any holes you might see, especially vs control with Dive Down. +1

Testing is good for Obsession and Sprinter. Tiana has flat out saved games for me, so I could see bringing her back if need be. Thatll have to be tested more.

I have one more suggestion for you. Swap Raff Capashen, Ship's Mage for Shalai, Voice of Plenty if you can. I know Raff has some good abilitys, but unless you have a lot of mana available your not casting a lot of legendary's at flash speed. Shalai has hexproof for you and all your dudes and can also save a game. Maybe as a side board option.
