So every week the same dozen or so dorks bring the same four or so "tier-1" decks to our shop. I'd had enough. This list takes full advantage of not only what they're running, but also knowing what they're running.

Angelic Overseer - More or less impossible to deal with as long as I keep one hoo-man alive.

Cavern of Souls - Duh.

Cloudshift - Perma-exile dudes with Fiend Hunter. Surprise-untap Angelic Overseer . Re-choose enemy for Riders of Gavony. Oh and dodge removal too.

Elite Inquisitor - First strike vs. Naya Blitz, immune to Olivia Voldaren and Huntmaster of the Fells  .

Fiend Hunter - Removal of choice for a human deck.

Nearheath Pilgrim - Efficient way to stay alive.

Nevermore - What we do: Deny whatever clutch spell we've easily deduced from our opponent's cards. One more awaits in the board; after game one, we'll have their list figured.

Precinct Captain - If they block it, you cast Righteous Blow and take out their blocker. If they don't, they take damage and you get a Soldier.

Riders of Gavony - How is this powerhouse a bulk rare? Make all my dudes immune to Olivia Voldaren, opposing humans, or beasts. Eight of my guys are vigilant; they swing through unmolested while standing strong as invincible blockers vs. same tribe.

Righteous Blow - Remember when they printed a white Shock?

Went 3-1 for the night. Not bad for an untested deck.

Matches:

BUG Aggro - 2-1. Lots of undying dudes, they were too fast for me one game, but my Riders of Gavony fear not the Young Wolves. Angelic Overseer helped put it in the bag.

Gruul Aggro - 2-1. Stromkirk Noble got out of hand one game, but the other two were won handily. Riders of Gavony with protection from Boars. That just happened! Also, Nearheath Pilgrim got me enough life to survive the burn.

Naya Blitz - 0-2. - This is like, the number one netdeck in the world, so I don't feel too bad. Helped me see which cards weren't quite worth the cut in the main deck, and which I needed more of.

Mono-Green - 2-0. Felt bad beating my favorite deck archetype! Riders of Gavony kept me safe from Predator Ooze and Wolfir Silverheart. The Nevermore made sure Primordial Hydra never happened. Righteous Charge helped break the stalemate when he got out a bunch Strangleroot Geist.

MVPs: Angelic Overseer, Riders of Gavony

Out:

-4 Loyal Cathar  Flip - A cool card, but he needs first strike.

-3 Righteous Charge - Not bad, but sorcery speed. Found myself wishing it was a Righteous Blow.

In:

+4 Righteous Blow - Deck was often unprotected during that first turn, took heavy hits in two matches vs. the trending Experiment One / Strangleroot Geist opening. Combined with my first strike creatures I think this card is going to devastate. Fits the curve perfectly as well.

+1 Captain of the Watch: Buffs Precinct Captain and his tokens. Makes Cloudshift useful late game.

+1 Nearheath Pilgrim - His lifegain is amazing with Riders of Gavony and Angelic Overseer. Great way to come back vs. aggro.

+1 Precinct Captain - For more first strike shenanigans. I expect to use Righteous Blow and Cloudshift together with all my first strikers, to deadly effect.
