The Eldrazi are not good. They're not evil. They just are.
This is a BW Eldrazi Midrange deck I own in paper. I plan to basically go the Eldrazi and Taxes route, except I'm cutting
Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
/
Leonin Arbiter
for more control and midrangey-cards such as
Thoughtseize
,
Inquisition of Kozilek
, and
Lingering Souls
.
The problem with Eldrazi is that, while they are amazing when you get
Eldrazi Temple
, they're a little slow when you don't, and it's hard to compete in Modern if you aren't playing things like
Thought-Knot Seer
and
Reality Smasher
ahead of the curve. So with this build, if you get your nut-draws with
Eldrazi Temple
that's great, but if you DON'T you can still control the opponent and drag them into the lategame, where the Eldrazi can start taking over and grinding out value - since most of them generate card advantage when they are played, when they die, or when they're targeted, they can really grind a game out.
Wasteland Strangler
can put a card exiled with
Tidehollow Sculler
into the graveyard to kill creatures and get rid of the card permanently.
Eldrazi Displacer
can then flicker them both to continue stripping your opponent's hand away and wiping out their board.
Eldrazi Displacer
can also endlessly flicker
Blade Splicer
for golem tokens. It can also flicker creatures that are targeted with removal spells to fizzle them, and it can also flickers the opponent's creatures so they can't attack/block.
Matter Reshaper
just replace itself and it's great. Enough said.
Oh, and
Caves of Koilos
is played because it's taps for all 3 of our colors. Remember Eldrazi need access to colorless mana. That means
Ifnir Deadlands
and
Shefet Dunes
are also effectively dual lands.
Also, it's really fun when this happens:
Turn 1:
Thoughtseize
Turn 2:
Tidehollow Sculler
Turn 3:
Thought-Knot Seer
Just sayin'
THIS DECK IS NOT FINISHED. The sideboard is very slapped-together, and the mainboard has a few missing pieces.
My current want list:
2x-3x
Path to Exile
1x-2x
Thoughtseize
Sideboard:
1x-2x
Rest in Peace
1x-2x
Stony Silence
