All gold cards all the time. Benefit as much as possible from cards having multiple colors.

A slightly updated version of a super budget kitchen table deck I made back in Shards of Alara block.

  • Multicolor Matters
  • Gloryscale Viashino gets +3/+3 whenever you cast any spell in the deck.
  • Knight of New Alara gives your creatures +1/+1 for each of their colors (usually 3).
  • Civic Saber gives +1/+0 for each color and only costs (2) to play and equip.
  • Reborn Hope only gets back multicolored cards, is multicolored itself.

  • Is Multicolor

  • Meglonoth is three colors and amazing after a Fires of Yavimaya with its Vigilance and Trample. Attack right away and leave up "If you attack me Meglonoth will hit you for at least 6" deterrence.
  • Woolly Thoctar is already an aggressively costed threat as a CMC3 5/4, but with the Knight of New Alara it becomes an imposing 8/7 beat stick.
  • Knotvine Mystic becomes 5/5 and puts you 2 mana ahead.
  • Wild Cantor becomes 3/3, virtually guarantees RGW available on turn 2 or 3.

  • Supporting Cards

  • Naya Charm, one of my favorite charms of all time. It gives you three great options; so many games are won by the Tap All Creatures mode.
  • Fires of Yavimaya, Haste is great! Threatening +2/+2 at any time is also great!
  • Trace of Abundance ramps and protects a nonbasic with the Shroud.
  • Colossal Might gives some reach with the Trample. Gloryscale Viashino gets +7/+4 from this.

  • Ramp / Color Fixing

  • If you hit all your land drops:
  • Wild Cantor gives you 3 mana on turn 2. Play Fires of Yavimaya or Knotvine Mystic first, especially if you have another land in hand.
  • Trace of Abundance gives you 4 mana on turn 3. Play Gloryscale Viashino first to maximize value of everything else.
  • Knotvine Mystic gives you 5 mana on turn 3 via Wild Cantor or 6 mana on turn 4 normally. Lets you play a tapland and Gloryscale Viashino on turn 3 and Meglonoth on turn 4.

Notes:

  • Swapping Fires of Yavimaya with Fervor makes the deck Modern legal but spoils the all-multicolor theme.
  • Trample is amazing here, 4 Colossal Might is a consideration along with Khenra Charioteer as a 1 or 2 -of.
  • 1 Mageslayer? It's multicolor and kind of better than double strike here - sometimes even an instant win on a Gloryscale Viashino. 4RG to play and equip is just so expensive!
  • Lifelink in some fashion could be nice, 1 Behemoth Sledge could do that and some Trample but again 4GW to play and equip is expensive.

Maybe:

  • -1 Knight of New Alara, -1 Meglonoth, -1 Fires of Yavimaya, -1 Plains
  • +2 Colossal Might, +1 Mage Slayer, +1 Behemoth Sledge
