Most of the creatures in this deck are Humans and two of them are two of the best, most aggressive Exert creatures. Thraben Inspector is a threat on turn one that can survive many, if not most 1-drop creatures in the format. Also, he gains card advantage as early as turn 2 and helps grow Tireless Tracker which is one of the best grind cards from recent sets. The two Exert Humans in this deck are Glory-Bound Initiate which can become a 4/4 Lifelink by itself and Combat Celebrant which allows its other friends to swing a second time. Last but, not least is Thalia's Lieutenant who grows itself and all other humans very quickly.
The creatures are great, but they become crazy with
Arlin Kord
and/or Always Watching . The creatures get huge and you get all of the benefits from the Exert mechanic without the drawback of a tapped creature. For removal, we rely heavily on Shock and Magma Spray to take out pesky small creatures, Nature's Way to help get blockers out of a creature's way, and Declaration in Stone to clear out big threats like Gearhulks or Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger. Fling can technically double as removal but, is really there as a way to push through direct damage from sacrificing some huge pumped creature.
As far as the sideboard goes, we have:
3x Bristling Hydra against control
3x Gideon's Intervention to stop Aetherworks Marvel or other pesky cards
2x Manglehorn mostly for Marvel
3x Glorybringer while it pained me to cut him from the main 60, he is too good to not be in the 75.
2x Sweltering Suns to battle wide strategies (Mardu Vehicles or Zombies)
2x Thalia, Heretic Cathar to slow down aggressive creature decks or even decks that need 3 or more colors.
