Naya Enrage - Marath Dinosaur Tribal

Commander / EDH Casual Counters RGW (Naya) Tribal

evilempire324

The Naya deck in this casual build offers a dino-tribal take on the toolbox and value strategy of other Marath decks. The +1/+1 counter theme is reflected in cards like Cathar's Crusade and Hardened Scales, and allows our team to have permanent buffs for each elemental token Marath makes. The damage-dealing part of Marath's toolbox will enable us to activate enrage triggers (e.g. Ripjaw Raptor, Polyraptor, Ranging Raptor) and get lots of utility like lands or card draw. Then the token aspect of the strategy is geared to having beefy tokens (3/3s and up; Marath will do 1/1s in a pinch for blockers or Skullclamp) that can absorb the one-point damage spells that we're running like Path of Mettle // Metzali, Tower of Triumph and Pyrohemia. The dinosaur tribal theme makes the most of the new cards in these colors that can take advantage of multiple aspects of Marath's value engine, like Raptor Hatchling, Bellowing Aegisaur, or Needletooth Raptor, each of which benefits from counters that allow them to activate enrage more often each turn.
