He's my baby home brew of the legacy format. I've been working on it for a while and feel I'm pretty close to what is a contender in legacy.

What we're looking at here is an artifact/enchantment toolbox that can resolve a really early shutdown to most decks in the format being Contamination. This turns off most mana bases in the format and allow us to play at the rate we want to play.

Here's what we want to happen:

We want a Contamination against almost any deck we face. There aren't many decks that can function after it's play and we want it fast. The deck offers some decent mana acceleration for a mostly black mana base with Deathrite Shaman, Phyrexian Tower and Lake of the Dead.

Next we have a look at our lock:

Contamination + Bitterblossom

Contamination + Pack Rat

How we get there:

We have this lovely piece Enlightened Tutor which pulls almost everything relevant in our deck, it pulls both pieces to our best lock ( Contamination + Bitterblossom ) as well as most of our sideboard. It also can pull up our Mox Diamond so we don't shut off most of our deck before our lock-out.

We also have Dark Confidant which let's us get some very valuable card advantage, as well as a one-of Phyrexian Arena.

We also get to play one of my favourite things in legacy which is a Dark Confidant + Sensei's Divining Top

Now, you've probably at some point been looking over this list and thought, "Hm, this is pretty cool, but.... You're killing yourself pretty hard, even when you've pieced together your combo. This brings us to..

Our back up plan! :

We're obviously going to have games where we don't get a turn 2/3/4 lock and get to twiddle our thumbs while we hope to win before we die, and this is where we round off the edges of this suicide deck with.. Stoneforge Mystic! The inclusion of Stoneforge mystic lets us gain the much needed life, it lets us play like most "fair" decks in the format if we can't get the early lock, and it makes our little Faeries much more interesting. We get our lifegain from Umezawa's Jitte and Batterskull and let us smoothly roll over into mid/late game.

We also have Deathrite Shaman which let's us do so much more than just accelerate our early turns and can win games by himself.

The last pieces:

Abrupt Decay - Lets us handle some early threats or troublesome permanents. Also breaks up a counter-top lock nicely.

Cabal Therapy - Our best resistance to counter-magic, gives us some information and let's us control how we want to attempt our lock or plays. Is very useful with a resolved Bitterblossom or Pack Rat

Now seems appropriate to mention the awesome inclusion of Pack Rat. Aside from fuelling our lock, this little guy can just win games if left un-checked. He's so lovely.

Land Base:

This, I'm a little unsure of at the moment. I'm sure I'll find a nice structure after some testing, but I like the fetch-heavy base, an Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth to help life a little, fetch when needed. One of each off-coloured basic to help against Wasteland decks, and Phyrexian Tower and Lake of the Dead for some early bombs.

Sideboard! :

Mostly some fun stuff you can pull up with Enlightened Tutor and some combo hate, because I feel that is likely the worst matchup.

Overall, I find this deck extremely fun to play. I love the concept of a toolbox, and although the only generator of this "toolbox" feeling is Enlightened Tutor, with all the synergies in this deck, it feels beautiful.

I'd love to hear your comments, especially regarding the sideboard, which I feel is the weakest part of the deck, but can get there with some help and testing.

Thanks for taking the time to read and you're a beautiful person!
