Fantastic deck, really glad to have found it! Will likely make the same list for my after-work EDH group.

Mind me asking, I noticed you updated it only moments ago, do you have a change log?

Also, do you think Goad could be added to this, just to add some more fun/silliness?

I'm thinking cards like Grenzo, Havoc Raiser, Coveted Peacock, Besmirch, Dulcet Sirens, Goblin Racketeer, and Disrupt Decorum. What do you think?

And/or, what about fun theft stuff like Etali, Primal Storm, Dominus of Fealty, Stolen Strategy, and Mind's Dilation?

cheers :)

RobsJourney I do have a changelog, but most cards that I moved around are now in the maybeboard. I also was trying to work in some synergies with Mirrorwing Dragon and Radiate because since Fiery Gambit technically does target a single creature, you can copy it for each creature with those cards, but after playing against that combo I realized how unfun it was I also was testing a bit with cards that copied creatures, but I ended up with a fairly small amount of creatures so I figured (even though I can copy opponents' creatures) it wasn't really worth it (but it'd still work well if you ran it!).

As for your suggestions, pretty much everything you've suggested would work perfectly fine in the deck! I'm personally not going to use them because my goal was to have a decent amount of randomness-based removal and have ways to protect and enable Okaun (not to mention I have a grixis politics deck that runs those cards), but they are still totally on theme and they would work well. Thanks for the suggestions!

No worries, thanks for the reply. Cheers again for listing and writing about the deck, very cool !

This deck is very cool, I love unorthodox strategies. Plus it's cheap enough that I can build it for casual EDH games and not feel bad about spending a huge amount of money. Good stuff dude.

Thanks RedmundR2! I'm glad that you liked it; You pretty much listed every aspect of a deck that I really try to make work, so I'm glad that it stood out like that to you!

Agreed with RedmundR2, this looks like such a fun deck for casual games and the budget is spot on. Will definitely be building this. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Rivor! I've had some of the most fun games with this deck, but don't be fooled by its unassuming nature - It actually does pack quite a punch. The generals' abilities work extremely well together, and if you win 3 coin flips during your turn, Okaun is big enough to outright kill an opponent. The other great thing is that since nobody knows what the outcome of a coin flip is going to be, it makes it much more difficult for opponents to know what to do about cards like Puppet's Verdict or Volatile Rig since there is a chance that it could actually benefit them (at the expense of other opponents).

Anyway, all I'm trying to say is that while the deck archetype is surely not the most powerful, the deck is actually incredibly explosive, and when playing against medium-tier decks I end up being the archenemy half of the time

Thanks for the comment, and I hope you have fun with it!

No mana crypt?

Yeah, we can all afford that.

Poorpinkus, really nice and fun idea

markszncd If you would like to put a Mana Crypt in, feel free, but yeah... A bit above my budget limit for this deck

And thanks Jafjaf5!

Sorry new to commander. Could you explain why there is 2 commanders in this deck?

July 11, 2018 11:01 p.m.

poorpinkus says... #12

csoutos Both of the commanders have Partner. The older Partner commanders were more explicit, but partner just means that you can have two commanders as long as they have partner. Since Okaun and Zndrsplt have "partners with (other commander)", they can both be played together as commanders

I've just found out about the card Assault Suit and I think it would be a great addition to this list! You can give Okaun +2/+2 and haste as soon as he's out, then pass him off to your opponents so they can wreck each other with commander damage.

River One hundred percent yes. I've actually thought of it recently, not to mention it lets me draw more cards with Zndrsplt, but I almost worry that it's too mean lol. I guess people can work together to kill him by attacking, and even then I can save some ways to give him unblockable/shroud, so it could make things real interesting.

Thanks! Great suggestion!

Awesome, thanks for the comment. I'm working on building this deck but I have a Chaos Wand that I'd love to work into the mix. What do you think would be a good card to swap it for? Mizzium Transreliquat?

poorpinkus says... #16

Rivor honestly I'd probably say Chaotic Strike, it really doesn't do much... I like the idea of playing stuff from other people's decks though! I may try my hand at that sometime

*Frenetic Sliver does not go infinite, because it only flips a coin if it is in play, and either sacrificing it or phasing it out will sto it from being in play, only Frenetic Efreet works.

poorpinkus says... #18

SynergyBuild THANK YOU for explaining this. I kept wondering why the efreet was jumping in price but the sliver was staying at a junk price. This explains it, thanks for pointing that out.

SynergyBuild says... #19

Yeah, a little difference in wording, and a huge difference in effect. Orcish Captain requires an lot of mana, but is an effective ": Flip X coins, draw a card for each coin flip you win, sacrifice this creature if you lost a flip." as long as Zndrsplt, Eye of Wisdom is on the battlefield.

Have you considered Chandra's Ignition?

poorpinkus says... #21

RainbowHiker That would be a very good card for this deck, thanks!

I love these commanders and I have made a deck using them where I axed all of the coin flip cards that weren't good enough (i.e. all but a handful): 6.25% chance of victory each turn. It's great fun to play a deck that could possibly (although statistically improbable) draw every card and win in one turn. Frenetic Efreet is a must-have unless you think it's dirty. An interesting thing about Zndrsplt- if you bypass the legend rule and have two copies, they will see each other's flips for 4 times the value. If you have three, 9 times the value, and so on. Therefore I would recommend Sakashima the Impostor and Helm of the Host

Consider Mana Clash

poorpinkus says... #24

otters Sakashima and Helm of the Host are great ideas! They are a bit out of my budget range (I bought the more expensive coin flip cards in this deck before they were expensive since my commander was initially Keranos), but they would definitely work well.

MarioMagicMan I used to use Mana Clash, but it doesn't count towards Zndrsplt or Okaum so I ended up getting rid of it. It is a great coin flip card though!

I love these guys. I have a blood moon/rampy version that just plays these two and dominates.

I’ve hit someone for 3072, and then flung for 3072. What’s your highest?
