This deck is mostly Voltron of a weird sort with a side helping of Control and some Combo stalking the periphery. Mairsil is unique in all of Voltron Commanders because unlike the Artifact/Enchantment versions or even Pump Spells once Mairsil has his abilities assembled the list of cards to stop them is very small and most of which are not typically played in EDH decks for hate in that way.

This also has a secondary HUGE benefit cards that typically set those decks backs huge like Devastation Tide Crush of Tentacles etc have little impact on a deck that only needs a Commander and some signets/sol ring in play.

What this also means is that certain cards are huge hatebears to a deck like this because of how laser focused it can be on the Commander, cards like Linvala, Keeper of Silence, Cursed Totem and Torpor Orb are the top of that list.
