So cards I am thinking to possibly cut are Hero's Downfall , Rune-Scarred Demon , and Garruk, Primal Hunter . None of these cards in my opinion are underwhelming by any means, however I feel as though they are possibilites for being replaced with more deck suitable cards. A card I know I want to add is Beastmaster Ascension , Also I would like to add more ramp. I was thinking either Farseek or Nature's Lore and more draw. There are four cards I've been considering to add for draw. They are Skullmulcher , Phyrexian Arena , Minions' Murmurs , and Slate of Ancestry . All of these cards are different for draw in different situations. I'm just not sure which one to decide on. So Beastmaster Ascension , more ramp, and more card draw. What are your guy's opinions on this? Please feel free to comment and make any suggestions that you feel could help benefit my deck more.

Updates:

Rune-Scarred Demon ===> Slate of Ancestry ; Going to give the slate a try as i feel it can give me some serious card advantage. I don't like the "discard your hand" part, but I'll play around with it for now and see how it does. If i'm capable of producing enough mana, I could potentially dump my hand to the battlefield and next turn refill it again for 4 mana.

Garruk, Primal Hunter ===> Farseek ; Garruk is defiantly a good card however I found myself mainly using his minus 3 ability in order to draw some cards. Now with the addition of the slate( along with Fecundity ), I'm hoping to have a good hand more often then a one time use of Garruk's minus. Farseek is mainly to fetch any shock I need for early mana fixing and ramp.

Updates:

Garruk Relentless  Flip ==> Garruk Wildspeaker : I feel that wildspeaker is more suited for this deck. I do like relentless for the tutor ability on the flip side, but wildspeaker's -4 Overrun should prove useful.

Vraska the Unseen ==> Stranglehold I really like Vraska, but literally all she does in multiplayer games is +1 "Put a target on your head. Everyone attacks for you the next 2-3 turns." So I'm taking her out. There's been an awful lot of "searching of libraries" going on recently in my playgroup and some one needs to keep that in check.

Hero's Downfall ==> Beastmaster Ascension : I feel that downfall can be cut due to not a whole lot of planeswalkers being played by my opponents recently and i'm running sufficent creature hate. Beast Within or straight up attacking planeswalkers should be okay for now.

I use Staff of Nin and Deadbridge Chant for draw in a very VERY similiar deck...kinda scary actually. Also check out Deathreap Ritual for the same thing. And I may have just missed it but if you're not running Dragon Broodmother you should try to squeeze it in

Thank you for the suggestions. I took a look at your deck as well and there are a lot of similarities. Prossh is a fantastic general and certain cards work very VERY well with him. I was running Staff of Nin before but decided to cut it as I thought I could find a cheaper card for draw. I run Fecundity , Harmonize , and my newest and most favorite draw engine Slate of Ancestry . I was skeptical about the slate at first, but WOW! It puts in work. Being able to refill my hand and then play the cards and do it again turn after turn is ridiculous in this deck. As for Deadbridge Chant , I used to run it as well, until two things happened that made me take it out. First two of the people i play with made opponent graveyard abusal decks and I don't want to give them a variety of targets. Second they both play Bloodchief Ascension . If that card is on the battlefield and i have a deadbridge chant in hand, chances are I won't be playing it. I was also running Dragon Broodmother before but people began to complain that in a 4-6 player game "each upkeep" is a little too out of control. It made me get targeted and recieve much hate anytime i played it, or someone could take control of it and they would gain a significant advantage, so i just decided to take it out. I actually really like Deathreap Ritual and may have to take something out in order to play around with it. Thank you again for the suggestions!

@NicolBrolas: They honestly think Dragon Broodmother is out of control? .__." Then what do they call Beastmaster Ascension and Purphoros, God of the Forge ? :|In my opinion, if you're running a deck that steals stuff from your opponents' graveyards, you don't have any right to complain about something as measly as Dragon Broodmother , which dies as soon as anyone casts a board wipe..

I suggest running a Homeward Path to deal with all of that thieving nonsense. And maybe a Reap and Sow to find it and put it onto the battlefield from your deck. Tempt with Vengeance is a card that hasn't worked very well for me in the Prossh deck unless I had a doubling effect on the battlefield, so that's a card I'd consider finding a replacement for, and Ophiomancer didn't really make enough tokens for my needs either.

I'm going to steal that idea of Purphoros, God of the Forge by the way :) The more shenanigans I can do with my tokens, the better. Also combos really well with Plague of Vermin ! :D

NicolBrolas says... #7

Thanks for the suggestion. Definatly going to have to get my hands on a Homeward Path and might have to add Reap and Sow as well. Tempt with Vengeance is one of my favorite cards in the deck actually. Combos very nicely with Purphoros, God of the Forge , Ogre Battledriver , and Beastmaster Ascension and if not then I can sack all the tokens to Prossh. I know exactly what you're saying, that Dragon Broodmother isn't that big of a threat and can be handled. They complain about purphoros and beastmaster ascension as well though. As the title says this is my favorite deck so far. I love playing this deck, it's fun to play, but it is competitive at the same time and can be a little annoying to play against seeing how the prossh and purphoros interaction deals the damage to "each" opponent instead of "target" opponent. It can make games of multiplayer go by much quicker, but also get me targeted very quickly and very often. My goal is to eventually foil this whole deck one day. I'm debating it now though seeing how much hatedred and complaints i've recieved while playing. How do I go about this?

I can definitely see that your deck has some really strong combos and some strong disruption to destroy your opponents' plans. A strategy you could use is to label this as your serious deck, and then maybe play with it less often in exchange for maxing its power. My token Prossh deck has less disruption and kinda focuses on doing its own thing, which is why I sometimes get away with plays that I probably shouldn't have - because I don't anger everyone at the table with stuff like Sheoldred, Whispering One and Braids, Cabal Minion . The fact that you're able to go infinite with the Altars is another thing that'll paint a huge target on your forehead, and people will want to make sure to kill you before you suddenly go infinite with an Ogre Battledriver or Blood Artist on the field.

Personally, I'm very much against infinite/instant win combos in EDH, because they negate everything that has happened up until the point where you unleash your combo and just win. People building up their forces, forging alliances and doing politics suddenly means nothing if one player just flat out wins because no one had that one instant in hand that could stop the combo, and it ruins the fun of the game (in my opinion). So if you absolutely must run infinite combos and max out the deck, get a Food Chain and make everyone aware that this is your serious deck that you play when you feel like you haven't had a win in a while and would like to bust out something different. Turning everything into a rush for who can get their combo out first really shouldn't be what EDH is about, though.

One card that you might find good is Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord . You can cast Prossh, buff him and swing and then sac him the same turn to put down A LOT of multi-player hurt in one turn. I would also look into things like Skyshroud Claim and Nature's Lore (which you have previously mentioned) - they are both really powerful ramp cards. I would also look into either / both Phyrexian Tower / Volrath's Stronghold . I don't think that you need Temple of the False God its nice and all but a bit underwhelming. If you want the speed, use Ancient Tomb instead. You might also look into Blade of the Bloodchief - you can make your creatures vary big and it lets you do some fun stuff with Woodfall Primus for extra value.

NicolBrolas says... #11

Thanks for the suggestions! I am definatly looking to add Nature's Lore and Skyshroud Claim . I have considered all of the other cards before and may possibly add some of them. I don't have any Ancient Tomb , Volrath's Stronghold , or Phyrexian Tower at the moment but will have to look to acquire them. I like the swap of Temple of the False God for Ancient Tomb . I've often had the temple early off and can't fully utilize it due to not having the 5 lands. Perhaps with adding the two more ramp cards though i may leave it in and replace another land for the tomb. I've also considered Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord before as well. I know he will pack a pretty strong punch in multiplayer games and may have to cut something in order to add him as well. I've ran him before and found he's more of a later game play. Plus the double swamp and forest mana cost can be a problem sometimes too early off without having any instant mana fixing like fetch lands. Not sure what to cut for new additions though.

Dude this looks like my deck! Although mine is a bit different and not posted on tapped out... +1, In Garruk's Wake is awesome with this deck. I would get a couple more devour creatures in here along with Feed the Pack and maybe Warstorm Surge .

Yeah man, I've been seeing quite a few decks that look very similar to this deck. I feel it's just cause certain cards prove themselves in this deck and therefore become staples of any prossh deck (Purphoros, God of the Forge , Avenger of Zendikar , etc.) and other cards are just EDH and/or Jund deck staples (Demonic Tutor ,Cultivate , Kodama's Reach , Beast Within etc.). I 've actually played with both Feed the Pack and Warstorm Surge before and felt they were both a little too high in casting cost to run and a little too situationally slow and eventually got cut. They're both good cards, just a little to high for the deck and at 6 mana could use it towards more suitable spells. I think the decks pretty solid so far. Some cards I'm looking to acquire then add to the deck ar Chaos Warp , Abrupt Decay , andMaelstrom Pulse . Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Keep them coming and feel free to +1 as well.

I'm a little surprised you don't run Coat of Arms it will make your first cast of Prossh a 5/5 dragon and six 5/6 kobolds. It also goes nicely with the Broodmaster. Very solid card, imo.

Hey thank you for the suggestion! I must have overlooked Coat of Arms . It would fit very nicely in this deck. I'll have to look into acquiring one soon.

Updates:

Harmonize >>>>Chaos Warp : I've been waiting a while to pick up a chaos warp. I just got one! I was unsure of what to cut, but decided that harmonize is a card that is really good, but when it came down to a card to cut, it was between Harmonize and Slate of Ancestry which I felt the slate is more versatile. Always open for suggestions and criticism and maybe Harmonize may even make it back in.

May I suggest you take out Llanowar Wastes and a mountain to add in Mountain Valley and Rocky Tar Pit as ether one can fetch any one of your shock lands

you might consider removing Grave Pact - Dictate of Erebos is better as a spell and I don't feel like you need to double up of the effect as an enchantment. If you wanted to run redundancy with it, use Butcher of Malakir instread, especially with all the reanimation you run. I would also recommend putting in something like Fervor or Hammer of Purphoros so that you can get combat damage in as quickly as possible with things like Beastmaster Ascension . Another question, why aren't you running Grim Backwoods ? it seems really good in the deck.

August 4, 2014 10:27 p.m.

NicolBrolas says... #20

Thanks for the suggestions. I do like the mirrage fetches, i actually play some of them in my other EDH decks. The mana base for this deck I'd like to be just a little bit quicker to try and either overwhlem them or get prossh out as soon as possible which is why I am not currently running them due to entering in tapped. Also I used to play with Butcher of Malakir but took him out due to the large amount of board wipes that were being played in my playgroup and costing 7 mana is a little pricey. I went with my preference in Grave Pact as it is less easily targeted by removal. Also a haste effect wouldn't be bad either in this deck. I've considered the two you've mentioned along with Anger , but have found that Sarkhan Vol and Ogre Battledriver are sufficent enough for now. As for Grim Backwoods , i like utility lands, but can't be caught runnimg too many that only tap to add a colorless.

Have you tried Pernicious Deed ?? It tends to prevent people from playing some of their cards which could lead to an advantageous board state for you... Also I would move Craterhoof Behemoth from your maybe board to your deck as it is all but guaranteed to eliminate at least one opponent, maybe all depending on how many tokens you have out.

August 7, 2014 2:38 p.m.

NicolBrolas says... #22

Thank you guys for the great suggestions. I've been wanting to add craterhoof for a while as I know he will pack a serious punch with enough creatures on board. Also I'm looking to add maelstrom pulse and possibly pernicious deed. I just really have no clue what to cut. At this point I'm looking for more suggestions of what to cut from the deck then what to add. Please help!

Some one was saying yesturday that they just banned Braids, Cabal Minion if that is so you can cut her

September 29, 2014 8:02 p.m.

enpc says... #25

Yep, as per the new updates to the Commander banlist, there is not no such thing as "banned as commander" and Braids, Cabal Minion has been moved into the banned outright pile. If you wanted to, you could swap her and 1 land out for a Birds of Paradise and a Yisan, the Wanderer Bard , you have the chain for it (other than 1 drop)
