This is my second EDH deck ever, and one of my favorites. I originally built him with just 99 lands, but over time have turned it into something slightly less Janky.

How Does This Deck Win?

This deck has a number of win-cons, but the most common is to get 21 points of Commander damage with Ob Nixilis, the Fallen. We enable this through a ton of extra land drop cards discussed later on.

• Sorin Markov will kill a player pretty quickly.

• 10 points of infect damage from a creature using Phyresis, Glistening Oil, or Tainted Strike

Extra Landfall Triggers

One land a turn isn't going to cut it in this deck. We need ways to get 2-3 land drops a turn. This is mostly accomplished using lands that fetch, and some artifacts that get us an extra land.

The Lands are pretty self-explanatory, so I'll just share some cool interactions:

• Ghost Town insures that we have a land drop trigger every turn.

• Amulet of Vigor let's our slow fetch lands immediately able to crack.

• Crucible of Worlds let's us play fetch lands or Wasteland/Strip Mine every turn.

• Strionic Resonator, Ghirapur Orrery, and Storm Cauldron, Terrain Generator, Sword of the Animist, and Walking Atlas let us get double triggers without having fetch lands. Storm Cauldron also has the benefit of preventing players behind from coming back into the game.

Ramp

This deck ramps in three ways: 1-for-2 lands, Mana Rocks, and Swamp-mana doubling cards.

Lands: Ancient Tomb and Myriad Landscape.

Artifacts: Burnished Hart, Solemn Simulacrum, Extraplanar Lens, Sol Ring, Sword of the Animist, Thran Dynamo, Unstable Obelisk, Fellwar Stone, Charcoal Diamond, Everflowing Chalice, Mind Stone and Wayfarer's Bauble

Doublers: Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Nirkana Revenant

Draw

The best draw in this deck is the traditional mono-black, "Lose 1 life for a card" type effects. We supplement this with artifact draw.

Black Draw: Necropotence, Phyrexian Arena, Underworld Connections, Read the Bones, Greed, Graveborn Muse, Twilight Prophet, and Ob Nixilis Reignited

Artifacts: Ghirapur Orrery and Sensei's Divining Top

Removal

Board Wipes: All Is Dust, Crux of Fate, Overwhelming Forces, Mutilate, Damnation, and Toxic Deluge

Spot Removal: Curtains' Call, Unstable Obelisk, Snuff Out, and Ob Nixilis Reignited

Evasion/Protection

Protect Ob: Imp's Mischief, Not of This World, Hammer of Nazahn, Lightning Greaves, Whispersilk Cloak, Warping Wail, and Swiftfoot Boots

Protect Yourself: Crawlspace, and Silent Arbiter

Evasion: Whispersilk Cloak, Prowler's Helm, Power Matrix, Shizo, Death's Storehouse, Dauthi Embrace, Dauthi Trapper, and Rogue's Passage

Misc.

Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth Lets us tap our fetch lands for black mana without having to crack them right away if we don't want to. Also pairs very well with any of our swamp-doubling abilities.

Ob Nixilis, Unshackled Pisses off Vorthos players when I have 3 Ob's on the field. Also is a silver bullet to players with heavy Birthing Pod strategies or a ton of fetch lands.

Future Changes

Beseech the Queen -> Demonic Tutor: Just swapping this out for a better tutor. Not high priority in a deck like this.
