Multi-Headed Fire-Breathing Scrapyard Plant Dogs!

Standard Aggro BRGW Budget Casual Lifegain Theme/Gimmick Tribal

Nelstone

The time has come to show EVERYONE who's a good boy.

Obelisk of Urd tribal decks are all the rage. And yet, one tribe has remained overlooked, completely out of the spotlight...

HOUNDS!

Hounds are the dark horse tribe of Standard. Nobody expects a pack of dogs on the board, let alone being boosted by an anthem!

UNLEASH THE HOUNDS!

CMC of 2 Milk Bones:

  • Boros Mastiff : Our first dog with Lifelink. Once he has a few friends around him, the life gain begins! Being man's best friend, it only makes sense that he'd fetch us some life.
  • Mogis's Warhound : Here is one angry dog, attacking every turn. And he can be bestowed! What a helpful boy!

CMC of 3 Milk Bones:

  • Two-Headed Cerberus : Double-strike doggy! Bestow the Warhound and you've got a rabid monster!

CMC of 4 Milk Bones:

  • Akroan Mastiff : He's a good boy that helps the pack by tapping a target creature.
  • Scrapyard Mongrel : This hound is a 7/5 powerhouse WITH TRAMPLE once Obelisk of Urd is on the battlefield. Win-con, anybody?
  • Thrashing Mossdog : It's a plant! It's a dog! It's a PLANT DOG! It has Reach! It can Scavenge! How is this not seeing Standard play?!?

CMC of 5 Milk Bones:

  • Rakdos Ragemutt : How can a ragemutt not be in the meta? Well, he is now! This pup is our other Lifelinker, and he has Haste!
  • Wildfire Cerberus : A hound that can become Monstrous and lay waste to the opponent's battlefield. 2 damage to each opponent and creature they control?WHO'S A GOOD BOY?!?
  • Underworld Cerberus : He can't be blocked except by THREE or more creatures. THREE OR MORE. And when it dies, every creature card in your graveyard comes back to your hand! Of course, so do your opponents, but what does that matter? Do they have a basket of puppies coming back to them? I DIDN'T THINK SO.

How could things get better? I'll tell you...

Obelisk of Urd

Suddenly, every hound has +2/+2 Puppy Power and is ripping faces off!

At only $14, these are some affordable pooches! And they won't need expensive shots or food! Sure, the deck is full of Guildgates, slowing it down, but speed doesn't matter here! Once your pack is unleashed, there will be no stopping it!

WHO LET THE DOGS OUT? YOU DID!

What is a plant hound, anyway?
