Hi dear friends of graveyards, landfall, triggered abilities and stack overflow...

... this Muldrotha, the Gravetide deck focuses mainly on lands, landfall, multiple land plays per turn and everything that has to do with lands. Therefore it is important to be able to play multiple lands per turn to get the most out of every other card. Not only do cards like Azusa, Lost but Seeking, Exploration and other similar "Landadvantage" cards let you "ramp" really fast, particularly with your commander in play, but they also enable the only infinite combo in this deck.

Short Note: I do not like infinite combos in EDH. They are not fun, most of the time unstoppable and only frustrating for the opponents. Especially if those combos work with just 2 or 3 cards. But because this combo needs a little bit more preliminary work and definitly more than 2 or 3 cards I am Ok runnig it.

For the combo you need to be able to play at least 3 lands per turn, every turn. To do so you either should be able to play those lands from your graveyard (with Crucible of Worlds for example) or constantly from your hand (with Slogurk, the Overslime or Life from the Loam). Also very important, that your three lands per turn need to be Islands because for the combo to work, you buyback Walk the Aeons by sacrificing three Islands. With this setup you can have infinite turns but cannot finish off yet. That is why you need at least one of the "Finisher" cards to close the game.

The infinite combo is just a last resort. Most of the time I win games by rampaging tokens (Avenger of Zendikar or Scute Swarm or pinging my opponents to death (Ob Nixilis, the Fallen. But also all other cards in the "Finisher" can be a lethal threat to the table.

Muldrotha, the Gravetide lets you play one permanent card of each type once each of your turn. To support that and to get the most out of this ability we only play permanents. The few sorceries within this deck don't need Muldrotha to be recurred (Life from the Loam comes back to your hand by itself, Walk the Aeons can be in your hand forever and Agadeem's Awakening   can be played as a land from your graveyard with Crucible of Worlds).

My personal MVPs in this deck are:

Scute Swarm: Consistently making >100 Scute Swarms in a single turn is pretty nice. The moment you play that little insect most of my opponents ignore it completely until I play my third, fourth or fifth land in a single turn and exponentially getting more and more insects :D

Lotus Cobra + Tireless Provisioner : In this deck you get alot of landfall triggers due to multiple lands per turn, fetchlands and other cards that let you put lands onto the battlefield from your hand/deck/graveyard. With any tutor I search for one of them first before looking for anything else. They speed up your gameplay by alot.

Updates Add

I made some changes to the custom categories and added "Protection" and "Selfmill" to distinguish cardadvantage (actual draw / tutoring) and milling. Therefore I also made recent updates due to latest expansion, Theros Beyond Death. added the following cards: - Survival of the Fittest - Sidisi, Undead Vizier - Gravebreaker Lamia - Swiftfoot Boots - Lightning Greaves - Helm of the Host - Dryad of the Ilysian Grove - Acidic Slime - Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest

Also added a new theme that kinda controls the boardstate, a stax-ish theme with cards like Warped Devotion - Overburden - Mana Breach Tainted AEther - Mana Vortex
