Morophon's such a good guy, so he always gets stuck helping other weaker tribes. It's time for him to get back to his roots, so now Morophon is leading his own kind: Changelings! For mostly flavor reasons we're only running Changeling Shapeshifter creatures (give or take a couple utility creatures), so we're gonna try to get as much mileage out of that as possible.

Breaking Down: Morophon

Morophon is a 6/6 Changeling creature for mana with arguably 3 unique lines of text:

  1. Changeling (This card is every creature type.)
  2. As Morophon, the Boundless enters the battlefield, choose a creature type. Spells of the chosen type you cast cost less to cast. This effect reduces only the amount of colored mana you pay.
  3. Other creatures you control of the chosen type get +1/+1.

The major effects we want to abuse here are the 1st and 2nd effects. While the anthem effect provided is beneficial in the late game when we want to beat down with our massive Changeling army, what we're going to profit off of is the fact that our creatures are EVERY type. The general idea (like most Morophon decks) is that we play Morophon to reduce the mana cost of the rest of our Changelings as well as use him as a Changeling for our other synergistic enchantments.

We don't run many red spells and have a heavy emphasis on Bant colors in our deck. We're running a budget mana base so we can go all in on our tribal support.

Mana Rocks & Reductions

Ramp Spells & Lands

We pretty much run every "Changeling" Shapeshifter under the sun worth running so this section is dedicated to the ones worth mentioning:
Pretty much every creature we run is any tribe we want it to be, so why not use ALL the tribal support?
- Spirit Mirror + Wings of Velis Vel let's us wipe the opponent's board for free
  • Amoeboid Changeling + Spirit Mirror does pretty much the same thing but every turn to make sure we can connect with our beefy Changelings

  • Fist of Suns + Morophon, the Boundless (I believe) lets us play out our Changelings for free as the cost reduction from Fist of Suns becomes the new mana cost of the creature. If this is not the case as I am skeptical myself please let me know so I can remove this from the section.

As always all comments and suggestion are highly appreciated! I'd be more than willing to toss some of the less viable Changelings for more synergistic combos and/or functional spot removal., as in it's current state the deck plays a little too fair and has a tendency to durdle.
