First draft of Monogreen Midrange.
The deck's mana engine consists of:
- Arbor Elf
- Voyaging Satyr
- Utopia Sprawl
- Wild Growth
Since there are not many legitimate threats to lands in the format (at least in the early game), we can afford to enchant a single land with multiple Auras, which nets us a huge mana bonus when using untappers.
The deck's advantage engine consists of:
- Entourage of Trest
- Pulse of Murasa
- Commune with the Gods
- Yavimaya Elder
The main plan of the deck is to become the monarch and leverage that advantage into overloading the board with hard to answer threats. Commune with the Gods helps us find either advantage cards, threats or assemble our mana engine. Pulse of Murasa is great against aggressive decks and helps us get back removed threats or cards discarded through Commune with the Gods. Also important to note that Pulse can act as a cantrip by getting back a Tranquil Thicket. The interaction between Yavimaya Elder and Pulse of Murasa is integral to the deck, since it provides important deck filtering.
The deck's threats include:
- Ulamog's Crusher
- Greater Sandwurm
- Penumbra Spider
- Sprout Swarm
The threats are pretty straightforward. Ulamog's Crusher is a must answer creature, especially when powered out early, Greater Sandwurm is virtually unblockable in the format and also doubles as a cycler when needed and Penumbra Spider is tough to answer and reliably blocks many relevant creatures in the format (most notably Delver of Secrets). We also play Sprout Swarm, since the deck produces a lot of extra mana.
