MONO WHITE, 'cause baus

MEGA PARTY UPDATE VERSION 5/18

Creatures

1-drops

Soldier of the Pantheon: This guy is seriously ridiculous. He makes control decks tremble because it hoses Detention Sphere and Azorius Charm as well as stacking constant tempo advantages with the lifegain and eliminating random creatures like Burning-Tree Emissary from a fight early on.

2-drops

Precinct Captain: 2/2 first strike that creates a bunch of guys that say WHAT UP to devour flesh, Far//Away and celestial flare. This card gets out of control extremely easy and needs to be block, which can be difficult because of first strike. He stays relevant throughout the entire game, especially in races!

3-drops

Fiendslayer Paladin: I had previously not liked him very much because he just isn't big enough to be threatening, but now that he can be bestowed w/ the Eidolon of Countless Battles he has become ver powerful. After quite a bit of playing, he does get out of hand quickly with an Eidolon of Countless Battles, but is pretty bad against azorius control. Since so many decks play black for Hero's Downfall though, I mainboard 3.

Spear of Heliod: this card is mega baus, makes my creatures even bigger and is really helpful removal that can make many players not even want to attack. Also extremely powerful to play this turn three and attack with your 3/3 Precinct Captain into any deck with Sylvan Caryatid to make the opponent to make a decision that will decide the rest of the game.

Eidolon of Countless Battles (creature): Creature version is ok, but if you want my true opinion on this guy, find him bestowed. Still, this guy + Elspeth, Sun's Champion = party

Brimaz, King of Oreskos: Dang boy, I need more of this guy ASAP. I was only able to pick up 1 for now, but he is on the top of my list and just does so much work. super solid, wins games on his own and literally FORCES your opponent to do everything he can to stop the kittehs.

4-drops

Heliod, God of the Sun: This guy is mildly underrated, but not amazing. The vigilance is especially nice with my big bestowed Precinct Captain or fiendlsayer paladin and his tokens work well with Eidolon of Countless Battles. Just an overall solid guy that helps you get ahead in a stall or stay ahead.

Eidolon of Countless Battles (bestowed): This recent addition to the deck is very powerful. He is most powerful on Precinct Captain or fiendlsayer paladin because of their high value. Also is very awesome with Elspeth, Sun's Champion and multiples of himself. very importantly though, he survives board wipes when bestowed. He may only be a 1/1 after that, but that can change...quickly

Other

Brave the Elements: Why would you even have this deck without it? Seriously, the level of baus is off the charts.

Celestial Flare: gets rid of those pesky protection creatures like Stormbreath Dragon and Blood Baron of Vizkopa. Seriously, it does work and few people play around the first one, which is often the most devastating.

Banishing Light: Extremely nice, this helps negate the biggest weakness of this deck which is planeswalkers, because I don't have any damage spells. just overall solid white removal

Soul Tithe: i'm gonna try this card. I have yet to play with it, but it's idea is generally the same as banishing light. throw it on a planeswalker and continue with your day. 3 HUGE problems i'm worried about this card is 1. doesn't immediately remove what you enchanted 2. the opponent gets to choose whats best for THEMSELVES 3. is useless lategame when the opponent has enough mana for it to not matter. 3 reasons I like the idea is 1. kills planeswalkers 2. kills indestructible creatures (gods) 3. when sacrificed, it stays dead, unlike banishing light where the opponent could get it back. Lemme know what ya'll think

Elspeth, Sun's Champion: another new addition, and this one is contest. card wins games easy, combos with eidolon of countles battles fantastically and is always a fallback when behind in a game. Just amazing, currently playing 2, but considering 3, what do ya'll think about that?

Ajani, Caller of the Pride: This guy is fantastic at attrition. Just like Spear of Heliod he gets my precinct captain to be a 3/3 to attack into sylvan caryatid and his high loyatly makes your opponent often spend a lot of resources to take him down. Also his -3 can just end games immediately.

Sideboard

Rootborn Defense: because countering the uncounterable feels nice (Supreme Verdict)

Glare of Heresy: moar selesnya hate, no moar voice, smiters or trostanis! Also wrecks reckoners and very importantly KILLS Elspeth, Sun's Champion

Renounce the Guilds: this card can do work. he is one of my few KILL IT for Blood Baron of Vizkopa and can be powerful against decks that run only a few key multicolored permanents like a god, multicolored planeswalkers or difficult to kill creatures like Reaper of the Wilds

Revoke Existence: every deck needs enchantement removal, especially in a freaking enchantment block!

Fabled Hero: I'm trying this guy. generally against decks w/o black or red removal to put in for fiendslayer because he has a mch bigger effect on the board that way. Don't even think about playing him against red or black, he will die before you can say "you're turn"

Banisher Priest: if soul tithe doesn't work out, he's going mainboard, but for now he's just for decks that don't have many planeswalkers because he is almost always better than Soul Tithe at getting rid of creatures.

Thats all folks, Any suggestions?

+1 Fiendslayer Paladin +3 Eidolon of Countless Battles +1 Ajani, Caller of the Pride +1 Brimaz, King of Oreskos

I'm trying this strategy out because there is so much removal that Fiendslayer Paladin has become really strong again. The problem I always had with the paladin though is that he just wasn't big enough to make an impact, so i've remedied this with bestowing the Eidolon of Countless Battles next turn for a slick little curve. I like a few things with this strategy, the Fiendslayer Paladin becomes a real threat and is really hard to deal with and a bestowed paladin by himself always has Heliod, God of the Sun turned on, making heliod very strong and harder to get rid of. There is one big thing i'm worried about though. Frontline medic was nice because he didn't die to Drown in Sorrow (but every other removal), so a very real thing that could happen to me is I slam Fiendslayer Paladin down and the opponent Drown in Sorrow's to kill my 1, 2 and 3-drop and get really far ahead. II might just have to play around this going against black, but we'll see. Lemme know what ya'll think of this strategy!
