Before starting, I changed my deck around to what you see above. I opted to reduce the number of Chords to 2 so I can add See the Unwritten, a fantastic choice it turns out.
Round 1: Up against WB (or GWB?) Soldiers/Humans. We both had large board presences in game 1, but he swept once I got a Setessan Tactics and had fliers. Game 2 was severe mana screw. Game 3 was a well-placed Suspension Field on my [Arbor Colossus]], keeping me from blocking enough of his creatures. Loss 2-1.
Round 2: Abzan creatures focusing on +1/+1 counters. Both matches were pretty easy. Once I had the board state, it was an easy win. Won 2-0.
Round 3: Temur stompy. A very interesting match. Lets just say there was no shortage of creatures anywhere. Game 1 was a swarm on my side. Game 2 was a swarm on his side. Game 3 was thanks to a miscalculation on his part. Having 3 Courser of Kruphix in play on my side also helped, putting my life total out of reach. The fun part was in 2 of the games, when we both played Hornet Queens. We smashed them together in combat, just to keep the aerial advantage down (I had Nylea, so he had to block instead of counter-attacking). Won 2-1.
Round 4: A Sultai deck that apparently takes me cards and uses them against me? I was far too quick game 1 for him to do anything, and game 2 I locked down his Sylvan Caryatid and Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver with Phyrexian Revokers. He had good hand control against me, but I was drawing my threats every turn with a solid mana base. Won 2-0.
Round 5: Either R/G Monsters or Temur Monsters, I can't remember. His Stormbreath Dragons and Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker were met with my Colossi. Hornet Queen and [Arbor Colossus]] were the champs in this game, keeping me safe. At one point, I had a Colossus and Courser in play, with a Queen on top of the library, so I cast See the Unwritten to seal his fate in game 1. I shut his Sarkhan and Nissa down with Revokers in game 2, easily outpacing his play. Won 2-0.
All-in-all, a lot of fun playing this deck. If I had won the first round, I would have met the Abzan contorl deck that went 5-0, but I'm glad I didn't have to play against it. But for when I do go against control eventually, I need some solid suggestions for cards I can use against it.
