2x Lord of The Void, I play this Ghast-Griselbrand combo all the time and it is hilarious, also Increasing Ambition to search for the fatties
I might think about both of those, but what do you think is weak for me to replace them with? This is my first Mono black deck so i am not sure on what would be best.
I'm really happy to see this deck right now, however, there are a few cards you should look at (and it doesnt look like you need to splash anything if you dont want, but if anything, maybe blue)
Consider these removal cards:
Your deck can play those, efficiently, i would suggest using at least one, if not, two of these removal spells. Devour Flesh is popular right now, and with mono black, Murder should be really attractive to you, Victim of Night as well.
Removal is going to be your most powerful weapon.
The creature choice you have right now is pretty strong, but i recommend using Bloodline Keeper Flip as well. Sure it only makes 1/1's every turn, but they are chumps, and easy to get a lot of. Not to mention, its like having a mini-sorin on the field. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed is also terrifying, he can re-buff your guys after you cast Heartless Summoning .
+1 for attempting the original path rather than the bandwagon
Thanks for the comments, i thought i was being completely original and one of the very few going mono black but i just learned a pro went mono black and has a really similar deck, but i give up, im going to build this deck. i think im going to put Victim of Night in instead of Duress and i cant decide between Lord of the Void ,Necropolis Regent , Mikaeus, the Unhallowed , and Reaper from the Abyss , any recommendations?
Mikaeus, the Unhallowed . there are so many board wipes being run, i feel like he would be the best in the deck
okay, ill add Mikaeus, the Unhallowed , he seems the most logical, but what should i take out? i cant decide.
I guess not technically mono black, but I love it! +1
It was mono-black once upon a time, but i decided to splash black just for 2 card:Rakdos's Returns, especially because it is so good with Crypt Ghast
glad to see more mono black showing up. here's mine deck:mbc-aggro-killer i'm thinking about splashing red or even more than a splash for card:Rakdos's Return, Dreadbore , Slaughter Games and maybe Skullcrack . still haven't decided on that yet. i like seeing Mikaeus, the Unhallowed in your deck. i just might grab one for sideboard against boro's or human heavy decks. looks great! be sure to post how it does at fnm's and i will be sure to do the same. +1 from me!
Thanks expmky i +1 your deck, and i appreciate the way you play magic from your description, i would like to think of myself as really similar to you when it comes to magic.
id use 4 dragonskull summits and 2 blood crypts rather than 2 dragon skulls and 4 crypts because if you run 4 summits they will most likely come into play tapped unless you play them first turn or only have crypts out, this only makes sense because the only thing u have that requires red is a 3 drop at the least.
how is this deck running for you? deck:mbc-aggro-killer went 3-1 at fnm, then i foolishly mixed in red for game day and went 2-3. i added card:Rakdos's Return and Dreadbore i might even keep the red in for Dreadbore but card:Rakdos's Return seemed like a dead card to me. i sided it out every match. maybe with Liliana of the Dark Realms it will work better especially if you get her ultimate. i also splashed red to have Slaughter Games and Rakdos Charm in my sideboard. but when solid black, my deck kills most aggro... with the exception of a deck i played against today that ran 4 Domri Rade 4 Liliana of the Veil and 30 of blacks nastiest creatures... was brutal. so i might consider splashing in red again just for dreadbore... gotta have Sever the Bloodline as a sideboard card against undying creatures, especially card:Geralf's Messenger
I've got a similar deck, Try adding Essence Harvest ... With Griselbrand , Lord of the Void , or, if you would consider, Desecration Demon . It's a minimum of 6 life gain and opponent life loss. I turned a few games around that way, sometimes winning outright.
