I needed to do a monkey/apes deck so here we are.
I tried to maintain the theme as much as I could and still turn this deck sort of fun/competitive for my friends.
Kird Ape
is 1 drop and one of the best apes, for sure
Wasteland Viper
more than a 1 drop creature to fill a spot is there a spell.
Being able to use it's blush rush on
Kari Zev, Skyship Raider
or
Summit Apes
can not only prevent your creature from dying sometimes, but also killing at least 2 of the opponent creatures at once.
Kari Zev, Skyship Raider
is a good 2 drop that can put monkey tokens and has good synergy in the deck
Scrounging Bandar
is not that good, but is probably the best 2 drop monkey that you can find, and his ability is useful when you are trying to get more aggressive such is the idea of the deck
Taurean Mauler
is a great card, specially if it enters sooner than later on the game and even though it doesn't look like a monkey his changeling ability tell you the opposite
Summit Apes
4 drop 5/2 with menace, when combo-ed with cards such as
Double Cleave
,
Colossal Might
,
Hunter's Insight
, or even
Wasteland Viper
it can do wonderful things.
Grunn, the Lonely King
Last, but not least I wanted to put this card to have something special at late game, also the card has a really cool.
To help with the card draw I decided to put
Hunter's Insight
and
Browbeat
.
I know
Risk Factor
probably would be a better pick, but it's to expensive and I'm trying to keep the deck somewhat cheap.
Rhythm of the Wild
i'ts a really good card and help with the intent of the deck
Last but not least I decided to get 4x
Sheltered Thicket
for lands, not only because it's the cheapest Mountain/Forest that you can find, but also because it has cycling, and when you a drawing more mana than you need you know what to do.
