Why Mogis?

His passive ability is perfectly balanced for the politics of multiplayer EDH. Two damage or the loss of a body each turn is by no means oppressive. Most opponents will give up two life or a token each turn without generating much hate, because it helps keep their neighbor in check or puts people within striking distance for other strategies. This means that a resolved turn 2-3 Mogis is usually in play for the rest of the game, and provides some consistent pressure early that can help smooth your transition into the late game.

Playstyle

The goal of this deck is to ramp into a turn 2-3 Mogis, followed up with some other value engine like Painful Quandry, as the deck is extremely dense with high impact cards and if given time will take over the game. I play in a very fair meta, with little to no combo played, so the deck is optimized to survive against combat damage and keep problem creatures in check. Mogis generally wants to slow the game down and win through out-valuing opponents with non-symmetrical effects, but can get off to very explosive starts if it curves out and plays aggro very well in these cases as Mogis is a three hit kill when online.
