Mogis Enchantment Slugfest

Commander / EDH Group Slug

Catbus

The core idea of this deck is to chip away at our opponents as quickly as possible. Since cards that hurt us too tend to be more efficient at doing this, we will often be hurting ourselves as collateral damage.

Due to Mogis' devotion mechanic, we favour enchantments as our source of damage. However, beyond that we have no enchantment synergy, as there isn't much of it in Rakdos and what there is tends to be on enchantment creatures.

Speaking of creatures, we are almost creature-less. This deck used to contain around 15 creatures, but I found I was always just sweeping them up with my wraths. So I've learned more heavily in the direction of wraths and enchantments that make the board a hostile environment towards creatures who are not indestructible bull gods.

Since Mogis tends to be pretty resilient, it is ideal to get him in play as quickly as possible. We strongly favour 2 CMC mana rocks as a result in order to play him on turn 3.

We have several "destroy all creatures, artifacts, and lands" spells. Notice that Enchantments are not affected. Depending on the combination of life totals and enchantments on the board (including Mogis), it is possible to use these effects to reset the board and have our opponents killed by chip damage before they can recover enough to pose a threat again.

Bloodchief Ascension is our absolute MVP.
