Lingchi

Lingchi was a Chinese torture and execution method in which a knife was used to slowly and methodically remove portions of the body leading to a slow and painful death. It was a form of execution used for severe crimes, such as treason. This was usually done by tying the victim to a wooden from, and cutting them methodically until they perish.

Our deck looks to control our opponent's hands using discard enchantments, and control the board with a variety of sweepers and protection permanents. From there we play out our Cuts, and try to keep a grip on the board as everyone slowly bleeds out.

Key Cards

Ensnaring Bridge - Seeing as we are regularly low or completely out of cards in hand, this card can keep people off of us for a while while we build up our board.

Erebos, God of the Dead - Our deck kills slowly, so lifegain can be an issue. We don't want to turn off all lifegain, because we generally become a target pretty quickly, so Erebos is very good. It also turns into an indestructible blocker once devoted, and is hard to remove, so it serves a lot of uses in the deck.

Ward of Bones - This card slows the game down immensely, as we can't play a lot out very quickly, and have very few creatures. This stalls and gives us time to build up our enchantments while our opponents do nothing.

Exquisite Blood - People become annoyed with the deck very quickly, even when there are bigger threats. This card lets us gain a lot of life and hopefully stick around for a while. Notably I don't have Sanguine Bond in the deck, as I don't like 2 card combos in EDH.

Geth's Grimoire - Seeing as we are looking to make them discard their hand, this card nets us a lot of card advantage in colours that have trouble with it.

Sire Of Insanity - Having no cards in hand is something our deck deals with constantly, but making everyone have no cards is big game for us. This is one of the best control cards in the deck.

Spreading Plague - This card continually stops the board from getting out of hand. It's really power seeing a Mogis is indestructible too, so it gets to continue cutting them up.

Key Combos

Geth's Grimoire + Words of Waste - This let's you make everyone discard cards up to the amount of mana you have, while you draw a lot of cards. This combo can single-handedly run over a game.

Waste Not + Words of Waste - Similar to the above combo but it creates a variety of effects, and depending on what opponents have, won't necessarily make them discard everything.

Exquisite Blood + Mogis, God of Slaughter + Pestilence - If Mogis is devoted, this combo gains you life and makes it almost impossible for the opponent's to make a board state.
