SB and MB changes —Jan. 16, 2014

So I decided to Sideboard out Liliana and Lich in place for Gary. Gary is just too big of a bomb to pass up and in all honesty Lich doesn't need to be in the deck at all and Lili is almost overkill against most decks. 1 Doom Blade and 1 Go For The Throat were taken out from the SB to accommodate for this change.

i feel like this deck would want something like Gray Merchant of Asphodel on the high end. if you have obliterator out its probably game

I agree with you, Majicdolphin, the problem was fitting him in. The deck is already so tightly knit with how everything works with one another that I would need to remove one of the higher costing cards just to make it work. Currently, the high costing dudes, even if they are the only things on the board, are a threat (with the exception of Grimgrin, but I can bring crawler back at that point) Replacing one for Gary would, in essence, be gimping the deck. It would have to be a lower cost card to be removed, but replacing a lower cost for a higher cost is bad for aggro, and the deck is made to be just that.

I just don't know how or if I can fit him in.

SB material? Sure, I can fit him there easy. MB? That's hard...

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx could be beneficial here.

I second Grey Merchant of Asphodel, and why isn't Cemetery Reaper in here?

@GreyFawkes, I don't know why I didn't think of that before. Nykthos is defiantly going in.

@thyhax Again, if I could fit him in I would.

Cemetary Reaper is purely outclassed by Lord of the Undead. Reaper, for 3, exiles by guy for a 2/2. Lord, for 2, brings the guy back for me to recast, which is infinitely better than a vanilla 2/2 and the card should in theory be cheaper because of Warchief.

Really nice deck - just throwing an idea out there:

Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Mutilate is pretty hilarious, but the first one is a nice option in zombie decks, I've run it before to great effect.

I do like Mikaeus, I'll have to play around with it for a while and see how/if he fits before I put him in the deck. Undying on everyone with Grimgrin and also just having it as a second line of defense...

We'll see where it goes. I'll play some games this week and I'll post an update.

Have you considered Death Baron ? I really like him because he can make your little tiny zombies really threatening.

Yeah he is pretty good with Grimgrin, I hadn't seen that - an added pump for non humans is a nice bonus too - with the other lordship pumps out there - you're beaters like Diregraf Ghoul , Gravecrawler and Geralf's Messenger ; are gonna be real powerhouses.
