Modern U/B Tezzerator

Modern Artifact Control

Woshi15

Sideboard

This is my rendition of a U/B Tezzeret Control deck. Ever since Scars Block, I've wanted to make one. Now that our LGS is running Modern tournaments, my friends and I figured now is the best time to get into the format, so I chose Tezzerator!

Feel free to comment on whatever you like! +1's appreciated too!:)

Card Choices:

Batterskull- He is too efficient and difficult to answer to not be thrown in as a one of Artifact threat

Wurmcoil Engine- The baddest of the Arifact fatties is one of the many win-cons. He provides value, can dig me out of a hole quickly, and is frightening with Trading Post around.

Solemn Simulacrum- He is legendary for his value providing capabilities. He ramps into and earlier Wurmcoil, Mindslaver, or Tezzeret + Mana Leak. Also loves Trading Post.

Treasure Mage- An extra copy of Wurmcoil or Mindslaver strapped onto a 2/2 body.

Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas- He is the namesake of the deck for good reason. His +1 is phenomenal card advantage, his -1 is so versatile, and his ultimate is easy to reach and quite lethal.

Sword of Feast and Famine- A peculiar choice in a deck with so few actual creatures indeed. However, the deck has alternate means of making creatures: Batterskull, Trading Post, and Creeping Tar Pit. One connection and it's worth the effort.

Trading Post- A peculiar card that has great value. It can turn Wurmcoil and Solemn into win-cons and value engines respectively. It makes Goats. It pitches fodder for life against burn. It recurs my strong artifacts. It makes Goats. It sacs my eggs for great value. And it makes Goats!!

Vedalken Shackles- A very powerful control artifact that is very difficult to beat. I've loved it since I first traded for a copy back in 2009. Plus, sac-ing their creature to Trading Post is awesome.

Mindslaver- Another one of my favorite artifacts of history. It is a emergency win-con with Academy Ruins and I've been hard pressed to find a bad time to fire off a Mindslaver.

Pristine Talisman- Mana ramp that keeps my life total high over time. A turn 3 Talisman goes a long way for stabilizing a turn earlier or two by providing extra mana and breathing room against fast decks.

Ichor/Mycosynth Wellspring- Eggs baby!

Black Sun's Zenith- Flexible, powerful, repeatable board wiping.

Inquisition of Kozilek- Powerful hand disruption that slows them down until I can get a foothold.

Mana Leak- Mana Leak

Dismember/Doom Blade/Go for the Throat- Various removal spells FTW!
