When I started Magic (in M15) one of the first decks i fell in love with was legacy stax. I looked to modern though for budget reasons. Stax was nowhere to be found. I saw one build called colorless tron early on that looked cool, but couldn't grind well and relied on Blightsteel Colossus to win. It was too inconsistent. Then Lantern control arose. I liked the deck as it was so close to the control of stax. It still was what i wanted. Lantern Contol was probably the closest i ever got (until now) to a deck i loved. It had too many creatures though. Then about 2 months ago a legacy stax list went 5-0 on mtgo with a Bottled Cloister, Inventors' Fair, and Ghirapur Orrery. That is when i came up with this deck.

The combos:Bottled Cloister + Ghirapur Orrery 5 cards a turn. Bottled Cloister + Ensnaring Bridge you can attack but they can't. Crucible of Worlds + Inventors' Fair fetch all the artifact combos. Crucible of Worlds + Ghost Quarter Need explanation? Spine of Ish Sah + Trading Post destroy things that are evil.

Why Not?: Blightsteel Colossus + Lightning Greaves We need Ensaring Bridge to survive the meta

Why: Kuldotha Forgemaster This is survival tool. at the cost of all artifacts it lets you live early. Everflowing Chalice Mana rock for any amount. can be cast for zero in a rut for Ensnaring Bridge. Spine of Ish Sah Planeswalkers mostly. Trading Post Sacrifice cards for life mostly. or pay 1 life to chump. Darksteel Citadel need artifact for Kuldotha Forgemaster.

Game Plan: Step 1: Dont die - Get Tron or Ensnaring Bridge or Spellskite or Orbs of Warding Step 2: start getting combos - get Inventors' Fair to get Crucible of Worlds - get Bottled Cloister or Ghriapur Orrery these draw cards - get Ghost Quarter. do this by getting expidition map if needed - get rid of opponents mana/set Chalice of the Void on any spells they could cast Step 3: Win - attack with Platinum Angel or Platinum Emperion or... - Sit around and let them draw to death with elixer of immortality

Side: Ratchet Bomb Deals with problematic creatures. Can be fetched up with Kuldotha Forgemaster. Sun Droplet Bring in against burn decks. Winning at one life feels great, but can be risky. Relic of Progenitus is fairly obvious. Welding Jar is to protect Ensnaring Bridge

Additional Notes: Deck is slow. Never give up. I have won very often with 1 life.
