1/8/18 - 4-0 and won a 21 man tournament.
Round 1: vs dredge (2-0) - he got off to a fairly slow start in both games and by the time he was dredging an army i already had a better army in place
Round 2: vs Jeskai Tempo (2-0) - This is the same guy/deck that I have my only loss to. This time I had strong starts and it was too much for him.
Round 3: vs Abzan Midrage (2-1) - These were pretty weird games. I won game won and game two had mulled down to 4. I kept a 1 land hand and never found another while he played Dark Confidant on turn 2. Game three he got mana screwed
Round 4: vs GDS (2-1) Lost game 1 pretty hard. Game two he fumbled on lands a bit and I took off pretty hard. Game three he only played 1 land all game
12/11/17 - Went 3-1. My only loss was to one of the best decks in the format and the #1 deck I'd like to be playing if I could afford it =x Before this tournament I was considering cutting the blasting stations and Proc for some Martyr of sands in order to get Serra up and running quicker. I'm really glad I didn't. Still not sure if Proc or Immortal is better in a grindy matchup.
First round versus a mono red prison deck. I barely won solely because of blasting station. (2-1)
Second round vs an Oketra's Monument deck. This one is pretty close to the GiantKiller list that Saffron Olive reviewed. I won it pretty easily with 140+ life. (2-0)
Third round vs Tier 1 Jeskai Tempo. Won game one and then drew nothing but land in game two. Game three was somewhat close but I honestly think this deck just doesn't have a good matchup vs Jeskai Tempo (1-2)
Fourth round vs Esper Delver. Not much to say here really. (2-0)
12/4/17 - Went 4-0 and won the local tournament the first time I brought the deck in. We had 17 people show up which I think was a record at my LGS. Prize for first was $30 store credit which was awesome.
First round was versus a weird Jeskai burn deck that didn't really have a chance. 2-0
Second round versus Grixis Death's Shadow, 2-1. Lost game one but with sideboard and a little luck I took game 2 and 3.
Third round versus Merfolk, 2-1. First game he had insane gas and overran me hard. Next two games were much slower
Fourth round, funny enough, was versus Soul Sisters. With my edits to the traditional list I felt confident about beating the mirror, and after blast stationing away his only Sister on turn 3 I racked up a huge board presence. He conceded at the end of game 1.
It's worth noting that game 2, 3, and 4 were all against the best players at my LGS. These are the three guys that normally win. Thinking I might fit in some Martyr of Sands or replace Proclamation with Immortal Serv.
