Modern G/B Elves Tribal
Background
Aggro-Combo deck using CoCo to gain board presence. This deck has been designed and refined through over two years of playing elves, discussing with other elves players both in person and on /r/ElvesMTG, as well as by reading through the most recent primer on MTGSalvation. I am returning Magic after a multiple-month long hiatus and am relatively unaware of the current modern metagame, as such any and all advice is appreciated, particularly in the realm of the sideboard.
The Elves
We're running 34 creatures total, including 16 one drops: playsets of Elvish Mystic, Llanowar Elves, Heritage Druid, and Nettle Sentinel. In our two drop spot reside playsets of Dwynen's Elite and Elvish Visionary which both provide substantial value on their own but truly shine in their synergy with Heritage Druid. Our creature curve tops out at 3 mana with playsets of Elvish Archdruid and Shaman of the Pack as well as 2 copies of Ezur, Renegade Leader to take maximum advantage of Collected Company
The Spells
We run a total of 8 noncreature spells in the deck, playsets of
Lead the Stampede
and Collected Company. Both of these spells are straight value, Lead the Stampede often draws 2-3 creatures, which not only lets us go off and flood the board, but also provides a great tool to let us play grindier matches and even recover from a boardwipe. Collected Company serves a similar role except it directly increases our board presence and can win the game on its own at times through Shaman of the Pack.
The Land
Pretty straight forward mana base running a total of 18 land. 6 Basic Forests, playsets of both
Gilt-Leaf Palace
and Blooming Marsh, and singleton copies of Pendelhaven, Okina, Temple to the Grandfathers, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, and Westvale Abbey
. Westvale Abbey is a more recent addition that took the place of of a second Nykthos, however I believe it will turn out to be a welcome additional wincon, and a spicy response to Living End.
