Sideboard is what was recently taken out

I've tried making an Izzet spell deck before using Melek, Izzet Paragon as a commander (Izzet Oracle (EDH)). It didn't work very well. I'm hoping that Mizzix of the Izmagnus will work better.

I modeled this deck loosely on the idea of a storm deck, with lots of cantrips leading up to a single blast. Mizzix is basically a super Goblin Electromancer, reducing the cost of your powerful spells. Those, along with Seal of the Guildpact , should allow you to cast multiple spells each turn.

One of the things those discounts should allow is copying spells. Mirari, Izzet Guildmage , Meletis Charlatan , and Nivix Guildmage let you copy spells at a cost (with Training Grounds giving the creatures a discount). Djinn Illuminatus and Melek, Izzet Paragon give alternate methods to dual cast. Early, these let you cycle through your deck more quickly and build up counters. Late, these let you finish someone with Red Sun's Zenith or Earthquake.

Casting lots of spells gives you a few advantages as well. Talrand, Sky Summoner and Young Pyromancer produce tokens.

Epic Experiment , Past in Flames, and Mizzix's Mastery give you alternate methods of casting (or recasting) multiple spells each turn.

If the burn plan doesn't work, stealing things from other players with Aethersnatch , Blatant Thievery , Rite of Replication, Supplant Form , and Willbreaker give you alternate options.

Since burning someone down from 40 can be difficult, Heartless Hidetsugu makes your goal more reasonable, while Curse of Bloodletting and Dictate of the Twin Gods double your damage output.
