Ahem. I'll be the first to admit that this is, in all likelihood, a grievous series of errors. Maralen EDH is dangerous at best, and I'm mediocre at Magic at the best of times. That being said, there's a certain appeal that such a game-twisting mechanic as Maralen's holds for me, and I'd be remiss not to at least attempt to do something worthwhile with it.

The Plan(TM) comes in four parts, the first of which is to get Maralen on the field in the first place. To this end, I have Dark Ritual, Sol Ring, and the willingness to take any hand with three or more swamps in it. To make sure that she sticks around, I've got Lightning Greaves.

Part two is to ramp like nobody's business. The first step here is to immediately bring out Liliana of the Dark Realms, since she'll be able to bring me a land each turn while my opponents (hopefully) need to use Maralen to tutor for their lands. Otherwise, I've got Crypt Ghast, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Cabal Coffers, Magus of the Coffers, Caged Sun, and Black Market to keep my mana pool comfortably full.

This leads directly into part three: card advantage out the wazoo. Of course, since I'm not actually supposed to be able to draw cards at all, we need to get a bit creative. Anything that provides a nice quantity of tokens, like Bitterblossom and Grave Titan, as well as things with worthwhile ETB effects, like Rune-Scarred Demon and Shriekmaw come into play at this point, as well as Gate to Phyrexia and Attrition to make use of the extra mana and tokens while maintaining a defensible board state. After I've got enough mana and confidence, the ideal play is to fire off a massive Diabolic Revelation, preferably with a Venser's Journal or Reliquary Tower on the field, after which I cast Necropotence and secure myself as a force to be reckoned with.

Part four is actually quite simple: Spawnsire of Ulamog. You've probably seen enough hentai to know where that goes. That's the finisher. Without Spawnsire, I don't actually have a win-con short of waiting for everybody else to die before I do, and that just sounds boring, to be perfectly honest.

It's not a perfect plan, of course. I need stuff like Venser's Journal Exquisite Blood to make sure I don't die myself, and I need a couple of field-wipes (Mutilate and Damnation, for the record) if things go south. But hey! That's the adventure!

That's about all I have to say. It's a shambles, but I still think it's worth attempting. Plz help me make said attempt in such a way that I don't look like an idiot. Thank you in advance.

It occurred to me that as long as I'm using cards from outside the game, I should probably set up an actual sideboard just to be safe. As it currently stands, if I were to activate Spawnsire of Ulamog's ability, I would cast It That Betrays followed immediately by All is Dust in order to make sure that the advantage is mine. Everything is pretty self-explanatory, I think; I prioritized annihilator and other concretely impactful effects, but I also considered Void Winnower.
