...who's the unfairest when bestowed?

This deck has been extremely popular. I've never had a deck on TO that has reached a score of 40, so it shows that people are really interested in what happens with this deck. I am going to continue to edit the deck, and get it ready for post-rotation.

It's a Thopter deck that uses a very cool trick, and utilizes Impact Tremors so that attacking isn't required to win the game.

I've always liked the concept of Mirror Mockery . You put it on an opposing creature (one that hopefully has an ETB effect), and block it for days. I wanted to figure out a way to use it offensively, because I know there had to be a creature that could benefit from it.

The problem with using Mirror Mockery offensively is that you have to attack with the creature, and the creatures in this deck aren't the biggest, baddest fatties in Standard, so unless it is used for a killing blow, you will end up getting only a single use of out Mirror Mockery before the enchanted creature dies. Unless.....

...it is enchanted on Whirler Rogue. Whirler Rogue's ability to make a creature unblockable will allow for multiple uses of Mirror Mockery . The sequence works like this:

With an enchanted Whirler Rogue and Impact Tremors in play, when you attack with Whirler Rogue, you will place a copy of Whirler Rogue onto the battlefield, triggering Impact Tremors , and dealing 1 damage. The Whirler Rogue copy then places two 1/1 Thopters onto the battlefield, triggering Impact Tremors 2 more times, dealing 2 more damage. Since this has all happened before the declare blockers step, you can then tap the two Thopters that were just created, to make the Whirler Rogue that is enchanted with Mirror Mockery unblockable, and thus keeping it around to do all over again next turn.

This deck has taken on a somewhat different identity since its first incarnation, and based on some of the comments made, I've changed a few things to fix so "issues".

First thing I tried to fix was the early defense. Like some people have said, the early defense of the deck is a bit suspect. I decided to add a creature to the deck that works VERY well with Mirror Mockery . That creature is Sidisi's Faithful . A 0/4 for 1 mana is awesome, and if you enchant Sidisi's Faithful with Mirror Mockery , you get to bounce a creature every single turn. And since Sidisi's Faithful is a 0/4, the opponent probably won't block it unless they can kill it, which typically won't happen in the early game. It's very strong late-game as well, bouncing any creature the opponent is using that is causing problems.

Mirror Mockery while being the focus of the deck, was being drawn too early, and too often, so I reduced the number of them to 3. All I really need is to cast one of them in a given game to cause problems, so having multiples didn't really improve their potency much.

The next card that I want to talk about is Captain's Claws. At first, I didn't know what to think of this card, but after looking at it, I thought it would work VERY well with Impact Tremors . Imagine the scenario where you have Whirler Rogue with Mirror Mockery and Captain's Claws, and there is an Impact Tremors in play. One swing from the Whirler Rogue will deal 8 damage. That's with just one of each in play. Now add multiples of any of the cards. It gets insane. Captain's Claws also gives us additional artifacts for Thopter Spy Network.

Lastly, after see a loss of several important cards, I had to ensure that the power of the deck isn't lost. I also wanted to improve the early game, and try to play cards more quickly. I decided to add Hedron Crawler and Warping Wail , which will both allow me to play any of the 4cc spells on turn 3. This can be huge if we manage to play a Thopter Spy Network, as the Hedron Crawler will satisfy the need of an artifact. Warping Wail can also act as removal for early creatures, and stop any sorcery speed mass removal that would attempt to get rid of my thopters. I added 4 Crumbling Vestige to help with providing colorless mana to cast Warping Wail , but Hedron Crawler will help with this as well.

I'm still working on things (sideboard), but I think that I've fixed the more obvious issues with the deck. This deck may just be a tad more reliable than the previous version.

Let me know what you think.

Thank you!

Updates Add

...here are more changes. I decided that since you guys have really liked this deck, and continue to comment on it, that I will make this deck ready for post-rotation.

I took out all of the cards that will be rotating, and added cards that will improve the deck's overall toughness.

I like the idea of putting Mirror Mockery on Thought-Knot Seer, eliminating the best card in my opponent's hand every turn, but in the interest of keeping this a budget deck, I will not put them in. If you have them, by all means, use them. Instead, I thought about what this deck's problems are. One of them is speed. I wanted to get to four mana more quickly, but didn't have a means until now. Hedron Crawler and Warping Wail both fit the bill nicely, as they will allow me to play 4cc spells on turn 3, which could make all the difference in the world.

I also added a playset of Wandering Fumaroles. No sense in not using them. Mirrorpool is a nice add as well, as it allows me to play additional creatures as needed.

I think the new changes help the deck a bit, especially because we are losing Outpost Siege and Ghostfire Blade. Losing both of those is harsh, but the new cards add power back into the deck.
